mulletman500 wrote on Apr 27th, 2008 3:39pmAs to your other questions, you should direct. It's hard and you'll feel bossy, but no-one else has the same vision as you.
I realise you say you have a script, so I'm guessing not a music video. You could also storyboard, and when filming you'll need a shotlist - a list of the minimum angles you'll need to make it work.
As to the cameras, check out Jessops: I've just checked and they have a DV (digital video, so can be uploaded to PC) camera for £160. If you have more to spend, try and go for HDD, but that's a minimum of £400 I think.
I've borrowed stuff from my school's media department. If that's an option, use it, cos it saves you shelling out anything.
I'd also do some practising before you do the actual shoots, to get used to the camera and stuff. Also, watch other films to see how it's done: Amelie has amazing cinematography (it has amazing everything).
I don't know how much experience you have, and what inspired you to start, so apologies if I'm being patronising. I'll keep looking at your thread quote |
mulletman500 wrote on Apr 27th, 2008 3:32pmHey. I had a wierd dream like that the other week...
That's a good idea, because nothing like that's happened in the UK - although people are wary it might happen. It depends on how you build up the character, but you could tell a story like that within the confines of a music video. Is that what you had in mind, saying you wanted music in it? quote |
