About mdc
Hello there, lurker. :wavey:

Pessimistic misanthrope. My favourite fresh herb is coriander. Coffee first thing in the morning, tea from then on. Ketchup all the way. My favourite ice cream is honeycomb. Pistachio ice cream is up there too.

I am completely self taught at guitar.

I think Ip Man is the greatest trilogy ever. It takes a lot for me to sincerely enjoy a film. The third one I shed a tear, but my favourite is the first one. I like animations too.

If I post a Guthrie Govan video, it's because rather than writing, I see it as the best way to answer a question in the forums in an educational fashion, whilst at the same time entertaining and inspiring, from someone that is truly world class. Take it from me, he's the best :)

Aside from all the guitar driven music, I enjoy pop, funk, soul and Motown. All the stuff you'd normally find on the set list of a function band. I think Aretha Franklin is a incredible singer, and MJ is a legend. I don't care what people think or say about him.

I transcribe as much as possible and keep my reading chops up to scratch always. I like jazz in all its forms. I like experimenting with chord voicings.

Ear training - as above. If you transcribe, that is an exercise in itself. It'll solve so many of your issues.

Picking - you're only as good as your weakest stroke. For most people, that's their upstroke.

Legato - you're only as good as your weakest trill. I guarantee that is your ring finger and pinky. So practise efficiently and trill with that pair so they catch up with the others.

Check out Alessandro Puddu, he is incredible, a tutor at ICMP London.

I dream of the day when I cry... with happiness...

Thanks for reading, check back periodically for any updates...
