Look at the earth from outer space
Everyone must find a place
Give me time and give me space
Give me real don't give me fake
Give me strength, reserve control
Give me heart and give me soul
Give me time, give us a kiss
Tell me your own politik
And open up your eyes, open up your eyes, open up your eyes, open up your eyes
Give me one 'cause one is best
In confusion, confidence
Give me peace of mind and trust
Don't forget the rest us
Give me strength, reserve control
Give me heart and give me soul
Wounds that heal and cracks that fix
Tell me your own politik
And open up your eyes, open up your eyes, open up your eyes, open up your eyes
Just open up your eyes
But give me love over, love over, love over this...
Sorry for the mistakes. Ironic that I get through the hard picking and singing parts only to let the chord progression fuck me over later. It repeats every 3 bars rather than 4, that's what I couldn't get my head around. { Tags : Acoustic, Cover, Bloc, Party }
With a little inspiration from the Mystery Jets version. Used improvisation on the chords as it's not a chordy song. { Tags : Acoustic, Cover, Bloc, Party }
This is pretty much the first song I've recorded since the beginning of summer. A fair few mistakes but I'm happy with it, the guitar and singing are hard to do together but the mistakes I made are more just sloppy instead things I can't do (except maybe singing ;)). { Tags : Acoustic, Cover, Bloc, Party }
Two acoustic parts and two vocal part all recorded separately, so hopefully this turns out to be better than my usual all-in-one takes.
When I converted it to mp3 the mixing got a little messed up (you now can't hear the lead guitar very well, when rhythm is playing) from what I had so hopefully I can improve on that in future.
P.S. Sorry about the distortion that comes up in places. { Tags : Acoustic, Cover, Radiohead }
Pretty proud of this. A great song, one of my favourites, which is why I chose to do it as soon as I (somehow) got Audacity working, and also got my SM58 mic to finally record instruments (I had to turn its volume up stupidly loud).
Anyway, that makes this my first 'proper' produced song, hopefully I'll get better at the mixing side of stuff in future. { Tags : Blue, Light, Bloc, Party, Cover, Full }
You'll find it hiding in shadows
You'll find it hiding in cupboards
It will walk you home safe every night
It will help you remember
If that's the way it is
Then that's the way it is
I still feel you and the taste of cigarettes
What could I ever run to?
Just tell me it's tearing you apart
Just tell me you cannot sleep
If that's the way it is
Then that's the way it is
And I didn't even notice
When the sky turned blue
And we couldn't tell the difference
Between me and you
And I nearly didn't notice
The gentlest feeling
I put thisup a few days ago but wasn't happy with the vocals so I re-did some, it's still not perfect, but better.
Underrated band (by most people), underrated song (even by the fans). { Tags : Day, Like, Today, Keane, Full, Cover }
First fully written-then-recorded song I've ever done, with lyrics + vocal melody etc...
I wrote the general music in early-mid 2006, then wrote the lyrics within an hour of recording everything else. { Tags : Behind, mattyp90, original }
So here we stand
End of the line
So much unplanned
I never saw so far
Cut me off
Put me out of your mind
Cross me off your list
And leave me far behind
You say we must move on
I say I've got to hold on
To the bits and pieces I have seen
Or do you live just to forget again?
Cut me off...
In a foreign place
I couldn't match your pace
Now, not a friendly face
Could remove this taste
Of keeping my mouth shut when I wanted to speaker louder than I ever had before but then I always let these moments pass
Redone with a 3 seperate track method (vocals, rhythm and lead acoustic) rather than all-in-one as before. Remains one of my favourite Coldplay songs. { Tags : Sparks, cover, Coldplay, mattyp90, acoustic }
Autumn time reminds me of you
Gives me a reminiscent view
I walk along the garden path
Towards a scene from the past
Climbing into trees
I scrape my hands and my knees
Weaker leaves begin to fall
As if they couldn't hold on
Your legs, they won't carry you anymore
A swallowing disease
The more it takes the less you feel
We dread the future just in case
We are the memories that it takes
Half the size you used to be
Behind your eyes, a vacancy
Where once was colour; hazy grey
We think about you everyday
Your eyes, they don't recognise me anymore
It tears us up inside
Broken hearts and warped minds
When it decides that it's your time
We'll be the ones it leaves behind
There is no way out
