Shredders usually get the limelight, and dubbed the "best guitar players".
I find this annoying, as melodic songwriters are usually much more appealing to listen to than a wild blur of notes.
And, the argument that shredders have invested more time learning how
to conquer the guitar, thus rendering them better, is far from
legitimate. Melodic guitarists may have practiced just as much as the
shredders, but have instead just focused on a diverse field.
Just my two cents. Don't get me wrong, I like to play fast, and some of my favorite guitarists can play 872634nps. I just like Slash.
