@#inyourface#@ wrote on Jun 6th, 2009 2:51ami really want to go to up but they don't offer the course i have been planning. anyway, i WILL (hopefully) take up music in up diliman after i finish just one science course so i have something to fall back on if music doesn't work, hehe. but i really promise myself that i will take up music. anyway, i want to study in uplb, too since it's more of the "scientific" up campus. anong course ba maganda diyan? quote |

dude, you made your own guitar? that's cool. |
Thanks for your comment.
Indeed, I did. You can see a brief photo history of the building process in the gear pics section (ac-electric under construction). Also pictures of the building process of my classical model with cutaway are available. You can hear this guitar in my MP3 section ('Felicidade' and 'Flor de Lis').

i'm really more of a Paul Gilbert like player, but can still take on BB King style or Clapton style. so enough about music, how's life? school's starting soon. |
school?? urgghhh.. God, i can't decide which course to take. we'll be taking college entrance exams soon and most of my classmates are sure of what they want to take. i can't seem to make up my mind and it annoys me. anyway, i'm gonna try to make the most of my last year in high school how about you?

i can say i'm pretty good at technique, but theory is my drawback. i can rip some sweet sounding to aggressive solos that are in tune with the song but i wouldn't know the key i am playing in.
i don't like sweep picking. i prefer alternate picking, though it's not as smooth sounding but it creates a unique sound. i can sweep pick, but i'm not good.
i want to learn classical music on guitar. as for now, i'm still on blues and rock. |
i want to learn classic, too. yup, i also prefer a.p. much more than sweep picking although i can do both. but of course, i want to be good at technique, too.

i wish i could have the opportunity to study under a music teacher. i'm entirely self-taught. figuring out the modes, scales and how to apply them is very hard for me. | \
hmmm... at the choir band, we have a music teacher but he never taught us music theory. he just teaches us guitar stuff like strumming, freestroke, reststroke, chords and stuff for performances. he's a great guitarist. he only teaches us the practical stuff. i guess he thinks it's up to us to study theory.
i'm not bad at technique but i can say that i am better at theory and applying them than technique. on the other hand, i have a bit of a hard time when it comes to pinch harmonics or sweep picking and stuff.

hey. kamusta? how's your music life? |
hiya. i can say i've been improving. i'm really glad i have. i studied theory and learned how to improvise (finally) and all that. still haven't recorded anything, though.
how about you?
