ideas for a versatile guitar?

This summer id like to buy a new guitar within the $300-$800 range. Im not looking to buy new but iv been stuck between a Schecter C-1 classic(or plus), Fender Standard Strat possibly buying a used edwards les paul copy. Which of these is a better buy? Or if u have a better sugestion please tell.

The music i play is very wide range. I play anything from Casting Crowns, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, and a little bit of blues and country.

Also for whats it worth, i know that the amp is half the tone so im going to buy a peavey xxx 212 (what iv settled on right now) also this summer because from what iv read its also versatile. Anyways any helpful comments would be appreciated!

when people say versatile they normally look for a Strat or super Strat.

For Metallica and A7x you'd want a deeper sounding guitar (Mahagony) So les pauls or Schecter.

Amp is more of the tone actually than the guitar, so are pickups.

Of the three choices i'd get the Schecter. esp if you get one with emg's, cleans wont be as good though(swap out the emg neck pickup with an EMG 60 to fix that)
