well one year ago I saw children of bodom playing the presto from summer of vivaldi and i wandered how can a composer of the 18th century compose so metal music.now i listen to classic music more often and i see that metal exhists not since 1970 but from the classic era.just listen to summer of vivaldi and tell ain't that is a malmsteen meets alexi laiho solo.and it's for two violins.CRAZY. something more if you take a look at (new) proggressive bands like opeth you ll see(or maybe hear) that they use technicques taken from classic music.for example listen to the cyrcle of the tyrants.in the beggining you ll hear a mean riff played by piano.it sounds evil because of the aguemented 4 it uses .that example is known in music since 1500 and is called ''diabolus in musica'' which means the devil in music.did you knew that?and i don't want to talk about neoclassical composers like malmsteen that are pretty obvious classic(as the name of the type of the music they play suggests
