Page&HammettFan wrote on Oct 7th, 2008 3:11amI wasn't really trying with the tone on that Cliffs of Dover recording. I more just plugged in, played it, and that was it. I did it because I had everything plugged in already and just wanted to hear how I sounded on recording on it to see what needed cleaning up (little did I know that it was... ALL OF IT!) But thanks for the comment.
BTW, I have since then nailed the tone quote |
Rhitard wrote on Sep 10th, 2008 9:06pmI never have time to get around to it, but I wana thank everyone for the comments they leave on my blogs. Sorry I'm copying and pasting this message, there's a lot of profiles I owe a visit & I'd be here typing forever haha.
So yeah, thanks again! xx quote |
igotabcrich32 wrote on Jul 26th, 2008 4:41pmYeah, very cool my friend.
I've recently taken a liking to Boutique made pedals. Triple the price, but better quality and sound. Its an endless quest my friend, i'll never be satisfied. I have a bunch of plans too.
Relatively soon, i plan on buying a Fender Super Reverb RI and an Epiphone '56 RI Goldtop (i'd go for the Gibson, but even 3k is too excessive for me). Then theres still the pedals i plan on getting and electronics for my strat/goldtop if i get it.
overall theres like 5 grand of gear i plan on having. :O quote |

You know it. How's it been? Nice gear you got. Makes my crappy one horse rig look like.....well, crap. |
Well, thats what happens when i have a job and nothing else to buy. and Come on, your rigs not bad at all, those Vox amps are nice. I got a really good deal on my Marshall/Metro and Strat anyway.
But, as it is, i love my rig.
i had no idea you were on this site either, i've seen you post around but didnt know it was you.

Skirvy wrote on Jul 20th, 2008 8:50pmIt's nice to know that the Zep thread is thinking about me
And how do you put vids in the About Me part? quote |
Skirvy wrote on Jul 20th, 2008 5:22pmBeing banned sucks I miss the Zeppelin thread which I had just started to become addicted to. quote |
Skirvy wrote on Jul 20th, 2008 9:07amThere was a thread on the Worst Album Covers, and I posted a pic of the Blind Faith album cover, (Eric Clapton's band after Cream). Look at it, I don't think it was fair that I was banned when it was the worst album covers. quote |
forsaknazrael wrote on Jul 18th, 2008 9:37pmI was looking through the Zeppelinism group threads, and I just wanted you to know, the Hindenburg was not made out of lead.
It crashed because it was filled with hydrogen, and the hydrogen ignited and caused it to go down in flames because it's extremely unstable.
Keith Moon simply meant that he thought the super group would be a bad idea.. quote |
Page&HammettFan wrote on Jul 17th, 2008 3:11pmI can't even figure out how to play that main shuffle part. I'm pretty sure I know which one you're talking about. The one that goes right after where I stopped? It is, a pain. quote |
Page&HammettFan wrote on Jul 15th, 2008 4:24pmIt'd help if I wasn't using humbucker pickups when I recorded that I also was just using the clean channel on my Marshall. I could've used the other channel, but I wanted to try the whole cranked sound before heading for the distortion.
Thanks for the comment. I had only just learned that section of the song, and it's really hard to play everything after that! So hard that I haven't learned any of it yet... quote |

My metronome was roughly $15, and has a built in Concert A (440Hz) in case I don't have a tuning reference. I don't use it as much as I want to, but I'm breaking that habbit. Oh, does it get the job done. How long has it been since you've frequented the Zeppelin thread? We miss ya. |
I'll have to pick one of those up then.
It's been a while actually. Every time I try and start posting again, I lose track of it. I'll try and get back into it though.

Yes, I have found Queen solos to be incredibly melodic, Brian May being the musical genius that he is. I've so far learned the solos Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon, and Bohemian Rhapsody. I've yet to learn many more. And the backing tracks do help a great deal. So does a metronome. If anything I want to get down my rhythm and feel. That's all blues is, you know. |
Yeah. Brian May is a musical genius. His solos in Killer Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody are among the best ever.
I need a metronome. That's one thing I need to invest in. It's such a useful tool, and many people don't take advantage of it.
