Thanks man. No it doesn't really give much unless you get the pick ups literally right next to the amp. I'm not really fussed about that though, I got it for the more warm, clean tone and the amazing looks of it

What do you tune it to? I tune my washtub bass to one step lower than a five string bass's standard BEADG tuning.

I play a open D tuning, D A D. I like the dark bluesy sound it has. Guess that I need to investigate other tunings one day. The amp isn't quite the size of a half stack. It still is pretty good sized. It's only got a 8" speaker in it. I can sit it in the living room and it doesn't look like an amp. Bonus points with the spouse. I'd love to hear a sound clip of the bass.
