Hey Kyle, I just saw your post in my EPK thread. I'll pm you some text once I re-write the bio and we get one other press item. We are waiting on another review and an online interview if you could include that somehow. I would like to see an example before I can estimate how much someone might pay for a band fact sheet.

Sweet! I figured it would be something like that. My money was on a loose bolt holding the grounding bus to the chassis but was almost positive it was down to some mechanical connection due to the buzzing you described. Glad it's something you managed to take care of.

I'll have a look at the circuit and layout of the amp and see if I can come up with any mods for more gain. The normal channel has the hi gain input running v1 and v2 in parallel. I may be able to figure out a switch design that'll put them in series. It's not going to let you jump Normal and Tremolo together but it will give you more gain. I just have to figure out if it's doable without drilling more holes in the chassis.

I've had a look around and it doesn't look like I've got any of the mojo greenbacks. I do have a new 4 ohm G12T100 and a use 8ohm G12H around here somewhere so I can dig them up and we can try them in the amp when you bring it in and see what you like. I also have a few American voiced speakers but putting one of them in your amp would be pure evil.

Don't worry about paying me to look over and fix the amp. I'm sure it's gonna be an easy fix and their won't be much time spent on it. Just let me know when you can make it down here.

Oh, and the badge is finished so when you come down I can attach that too.

Cheers

Tried your advice on the phone about using the other speaker jack but no luck - the amp's silent. I'll bring it down sometime next week - I'm sure you'll be able to get it going again and I can hopefully pick up that name badge too! I think the amp needed a look over anyway, the power input bit has been getting a bit loose lately. I'll be more happy to give you a few quid for your time, as long as I can get it working!

By the way, do you have any of Mojo's Greenback clones at the moment? The V30 in the DBOF sounds great for soloing but is a bit mid-heavy in a band context...

I've just finished some new demos with the band, so I'll try and sample a few good bits for you and bring the CD with me.

Just let me know when you can make it down and I'll be ready for you.

I'll have a look through my speakers and see if I've got any of the mojo greenbacks in stock. I know I have a couple of their speakers but I'm not sure exactly what they are.

Hi, surely if the pub isn't too big and you have another way of amplifing vocals you can pull it off without a PA?

I didn't notice any rattle when I had the amp but this kind of stuff can develop and there can be several causes. Does it sound like it's being amplified? Or does it just sound like the amp is rattling?

Your soundclips sound great. If you could burn them to CD and send them to

Chris Robertson
Brynhafren
Longbridge street
Newtown
Powys

That would be great.

I've gotten in touch with the trophy shop and they told me that the nameplates have been finished and they simply forgot to let me know so I can send you a name plate with your Free T-Shirt. It's going to need epoxied onto the front of the amp but I recon you can handle that.

Definitely, I'll get some dirty clips recorded soon and send you the best mp3s. Have you had any badges made up yet by the way?

Oh, I was using your company for a bit of design practice a few weeks ago, if you want to use the banner/logo, you're more than welcome to use it if it's any use to you!

Love the banner and I definitely want to use it. If you don't mind I'll want to add some small print at the bottom crediting you and your website for the banner too.

The badges still haven't come back yet. I told them no rush when I commissioned them to make them so they are really taking their time.

Chris,

Just put up a sound clip on my profile of the Dirty Box Of Fun. Recorded with a USB condenser so it's nothing special, but should be plenty more to come!

Sound great. I do love a tele neck pickups clean tone with some slow vibrato. When you get a couple clips together do you think you could email me the MP3's? If you let me use them on my site you get a free rock monkey shirt.

I have cracked open the boogie and found a few problems. It appears that the reverb circuit had been modded in the past with a soldering iron that was too hot and burnt up some of the circuit board so I'm having to get creative with the wiring but it gives me practice working on mesa amps and their tech support is really good so I'm happy. Once that is fixed I'm gonna go with the black and white snakeskin tolex and a leather handle. It'll be pretty cool.

That's really interesting news - it was checked out by a very good tech last year, and the reverb died very shortly afterwards, but I did some basic checks and assumed it was the tank itself. He was fixing a minor power tube problem, so the circuit damage must be from the previous owner, who I was let to believe was a very good tech too...

Chris,

Gigged the 18 watter last night for the first time and had loads of compliments on my tone - just want to say thanks for such a great amp! Got a heavy gigging schedule for the next couple of weeks so I'll no doubt do a full review for UG once it's really been put through its paces...
Look forward to seeing what you make of the Boogie too.

Cheers!
Kyle
