If you look on the news, or ask anyone at all about their political opinion, they will tell you one thing. Pull the fuck out of Iraq. These bandwagon jumpers are following self-destructive ideals preached by hippie pascifists.
Why do you think this Kranos?
It is very simple. Look at Iraq. Look at the big country next to it. What is it called? That's right kids, it's called Iran! You see, if America pulls out of Iraq, Iran will snatch it right up, and with it, most of our oil supply. You know what that means?
America is screwed!
Without oil, America will not be able to use airplanes, cars, hell, ANYTHING that requires oil. With such a huge issue to deal with, America will lose prominence as a world power, and eventually fade into history as a footnote.
So, here are your choices.
A: Stay in Iraq and survive. B: Find a large scale replacement for Oil. c: Pull out of Iraq and kill America.
The majority of the Iraqi population is Shia. The previous regime was Sunni, and they were rather crappy to the Shia. Now, with democracy, the Shia would have control of the former Sunni stronghold, Baghdad, and the Sunnis are just fucking terrified that the Shia will seek revenge on the Sunnis for all those oppressive years. These attackers are Sunni that are quite frankly terrified of a Shia rule. It's not about being anti American. It's not about hating democracy. It's about fear of safety. Some people would rather die now than be tortured for life - at least that's what they see happening.
Ideally, Iraq needs to be divided into three regions - one for the Sunnis, one for the Shia, and one for the Kurds (who, by the way, don't have ANY American troops in their area). However, Turkey's making threats about a Kurd area, so some major diplomacy is needed. I say one country, three states.
What news network do you watch? All the American news networks are goddamned right-wing and conservative, and bash anyone who even mentions pulling out of the Middle East.
To pull out of Iraq isn't a "hippy pacifist" or "self-destructive ideal." Stop watching FOX News. You wonder why the rest of the world sees America as a bastard nation? American Foreign Policy - getting out of Iraq would be great PR for America. It'll lessen the accusations of neo-colonialism and hegemony. Additionally, it's immoral to suggest that the lives of soldiers are worth the convenience of being able to drive a car for cheap.
You must understand - democracy cannot work everywhere, especially if it is more or less forcibly imposed.
There's a looming global oil crisis anyway, so essentially it doesn't matter who "controls" the oil - at the rate the world is consuming it, there's research that suggests we're going to hit a critical level by 2025.
Plus, the big oil corporations (which are global TNC's) won't be very happy if their profit interests are undermined, so I'm sure the oil supply is under close scrutiny and security. Also, since the inherent nature of the corporation is to keep shareholders happy and pay their board members and CEOs millions of dollars annually, they've got to keep oil popular in the public eye. That's why you're not seeing very many developments within the renewable energy sector - at least not in North America. Big Oil doesn't want anyone to switch to clean energy.
Also, with sustained consumerist mentality in the West, we're just adding fuel to the fire.
Forget the end of America - the greed of corporations will be the end of this planet as we know it.
Additionally, it's immoral to suggest that the lives of soldiers are worth the convenience of being able to drive a car for cheap.
You are looking at the small picture, we are not talking about convenience here. The oil represents the US's momentum as a world power. Losing Iraq would show weakness in America, and any sign of weakness will become a domino effect that will lead to a loss of power (as the cuban missile crisis did to Russia).
Forget the end of America - the greed of corporations will be the end of this planet as we know it.
America is BASED upon the greed of corporations. Corporate organizations are the foundation on which America is based, and they control anything that we do. Politicians are heavily influenced by their corporate masters as it is. Don't think of corporations as some entity based in America, think of them AS America.
First off, correct me if I'm wrong someone but Saudi Arabia is our biggest oil supplier, not Iraq. There are plenty of other places to get oil, including The United States itself. There are reserves off in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. We just don't use them because of environmental concerns.

Iraq is still a producer of oil, although I will give that it is not as large as say Saudi Arabia. The big problem is that Iran can snatch Iraq if we pull out, and if it snatches Iraq, it may look to Kuwait. Since almost all of our oil gets processed there, it will mean very bad news for us. As for offshore oil, we cannot reach it due to environmental concerns, and the oil in the US is still unnavailable due to the hard stone covering it. The oil costs so much to drill to that it costs even more to sell than modern day prices.
