Stand in Bassist Part II

So, as you know i recently played a gig with a bassist who doesn't even play, bass, and apparently he knows even less guitar then i knew! So last night we jam with him, he really doesn't know what he's doing but we expected that, and were helping him out (to be fair, he had to learn 6 songs, 3 of which are original in a day) so by the end of the night, he has a basic idea of how to play bass, and knows TNT, and Toxicity, and Razor Wire (an unrecorded original) and some of For Whom the Bell Tolls, and bits of our originals...its not looking to bright for the next days gig...
So we jammed again after school to help him out, and by the end of the second session, he can play! not well granted, but he can cover really easy bas parts while me and Tom (fellow guitarist and vocalist in my band, Caldera) play along.
So we get to the gig and find out that they aren't gonna mic anything but drums and vocals....which sucks because Tom and the bassist Kody both have small amps (kody actually is playing through a guitar amp) so we go on, and  despite the fact that we're playing first (because our demo was pretty bad, as you can see) so we go up their ready to smash heads, and most of the crowd is sitting (we're in an auditorium) which is a big turn-off and its really hard to go nuts when everyone out there is sitting down.. but we played awesome and got tons of cheering between songs etc, it was awesome (this is gig #4) and Kody? Well he did great, except for one simple, simple thing......somehow i made a freudian slip, and wrote down his set list wrong, so kody (who can't hear himself, because there is no monitors and he's playing bass thru a guitar amp) goes right into the wrong song... Tom straightens him out, and theres no damage done, but it was pretty hilarious.... all in all though... good stuff.... but i don't plan on hiring kids at random to play bass for me anymore....
