I've been playing for years but never really took it serious until the past year or so. I should be a lot better than I am, but life is full of disappointment, huh?
I am currently on an acoustic binge... I don't think I've picked up my electric in 6 months. I started learning guitar by playing songs out of Metallica's black album. I didn't even know what rhythm was but I could mimic a few of Kirk's solos. Once I found out how hard it is to entertain people just by playing snippets of Metallica's guitar solos I got an acoustic and focused more on chords, strumming patterns, and keeping good rhythm and tempo. Over all I think I'm a decent guitarist for the work I've put into it. I don't play every day and I've never taken a guitar lesson but I get the job done when my friends ask me to play a song!!
