My name is Alex, and I've been playing guitar for five years. I've finished my first year of a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Western Sydney, leaving two more to go with a fourth year Master of Secondary Teaching.
I'm a fan of abstract and surrealist art - particularly the Sargass Sea series and Wassily Kandinsky's work - and I've been devoting a lot more time to studying music theory, sight-reading and orchestration.
I'm open to all sorts of music, so if you ever have any suggestions for a band, artist or composer to check out though, please feel free to fill me in on the goods! My favourite sort of music though is theater/film score or soundtracks, or some wonderful layered pop/indie like Pomplamoose, Forgive Durden or Regina Spektor.
I've been more active in the forums lately, mostly in T&C, and the Techniques Forums, and if you're ever up for a casual chat, or would like to ask me anything, you're always more than welcome - I'd love to help out wherever if possible.
Anyways, that's enough blabbering on about me!

On the other hand...
If you're a fan of early Tegan and Sara, and acoustic folk music, please feel free to visit my math teacher's duo at: http://www.myspace.com/bygracespace
And if you liked the above, you'll love the work of this aspiring composer; help me help a friend out at: http://www.myspace.com/1happyhannah
Or maybe you're a fan of progressive power metal (I know I am!). Have a listen to the enigmatic Friar Rush (my tutor's band) at: http://www.myspace.com/friarrush
