So in the past twenty- four hours, a rocket was shot
into space, a US Embassy was attacked and torched, Fidel Castro
resigned, and Virginia, after having a week of 60 degree weather, is
about to be hit by a big slab of ice. Anyone else scared?
Seriously, they didn't write about this kind of shit in the Bible.
I'm hoping that since my dad had kids with other women before having me
with my mom that I can get out on a loophole from the whole first born
thing (sorry, Tony, but it's either you or me, and I'm ratting your ass
out).
If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go buy a shit ton of duct tape and a gas mask. I hear that's how Moses got through the plagues.
So here's the thing: I'm a little perturbed. About a lot of things. Right now, specifically, I'm tired of all these damn support symbols. Ribbons. Magnets. Facebook groups. Arm bracelets (shudder!). Why do these things piss me off? I'll tell you why. They don't do anything.
How many soldiers' lives have been changed because of that yellow magnet on the back of your Hummer? None. How many soldiers have lost their lives because of the thing that makes your Hummer go? Lots.
How many Facebook Groups have dramatically changed the world for the better?
How many cancer patients got better treatment because you wore pink one Thursday?
Here's the thing: Materialism has taken over action. You want to show that you're more than some drunken slut, that you care about something other than Natural Light and dick? Hey,
for two bucks, you can be free of all guilt. And, it looks sooooo cute
with those pink slippers you got a Hollister last weekend!
You
want to show that even though you couldn't fucking find Darfur on a map
if a gun was pointed to your head and your whole family was strapped to
a bomb that would go off if you picked the wrong answer, you still
think that someone should stop whoever the hell it is (because you
don't know that either) that's doin these horrible things (guess what,
you don't know that either.)!
And I'm tired of you inactive

It's a little
hard to take you seriosly when your profile is plastered with pictures
with such creative taglines as "OMG, i waaaaas sooooo wasted that
night!" and "I think I went home with that guy! I wonder what his name
was?" and "Holy shit dude, we gotta fucking throwdown again soon!
WOOOOOO FUCKIN A BITCH!"
You want to change the world? Then get
the fuck off your computer, stop going to parties, and volunteer
somewhere. At a women's center (because most of the people who do work
there are fucking horrible human beings), a Goodwill Store, something.
Fucking back it up. And don't judge me because I didn't join your
stupid group, and I don't have a fucking magnet on my car, and I don't
wear a god-damned bracelet on my arm. I know my views, I know what I do
to help society, but I don't expect to be looked at as a better person
because of it. You really want to support a cause, leave your worthless
ass internet group and GO THE FUCK OUTSIDE.
There's a whole big world out there, filled with real fucking people.
