About ten years ago, I was playing bass and/or guitar in numerous (o.k., two) bands in the Cleveland metal scene. I had to put that on hold to go to college and pursue my acting career. Now, I'm in Los Angeles, married, writing and acting in films, and making ends meet (barely) by working at Trader Joe's. I do get to use my music skill a little by writing some of the music for my production company's films.
Not being in a band has definitely left a void in my life that I am looking to fill. And the ten years away from the regular practice has taken it's toll on my abilities. I used to get compared to Geddy, Geezer, and Les Claypool (not sure if I ever agreed with that one, but I gratefully took the compliment.) I've recently started making time to practice my bass and and saving for more equipment. Hopefully, I'll be able to form or join a band within a year.
