Hmmm....

Current mood: calm

Well I first picked up a guitar at around 8 years of age and didn't have a clue. Then I got a very old guitar called a 'Cello Guitar' that my Grandad bought back in the 1930s! It smells old. It's called a Milner and I don't know if it was any good back then or a cheap one but I used to bang out the James Bond Theme Tune on it with an old Victorian Penny  used as a plectrum!

At school back in 1981 I managed to buy a second hand very cheapo electric which Woolworths used to sell back in the 1970's and a WEM 15w valve amp. Crank that up and it sounds really nice and i still have that amp. I wasn't too popular with the neighbors or my dad cos I was into punk lol!

Then I had the bug and have been playing ever since with sometimes less enthusiasm then I normally have when life dishes up its shit but its the same for everyone.

I love playing and have pretty much learned from books and listening but took lessons with John Mizarolli http://www.mizarolli.net/ in 2005 and throughly enjoyed them. There is so much to learn!! I like lots of different genres of music and consequently like lots of styles of playing guitar, so I'm a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none and crap at some!

Check out Bare Knuckle Pickups if you fancy changing from stock as they are incredible! http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/

Also with huge price increases and a de-valued pound buying british is a good way to go. Custom builds with small luthiers are cheaper than off the shelf big name guitars and you choose what you want in the design not what an accountant in a big corporation thinks will do. So much more bang for buck.

I had a gorgeous guitar made for me with as many extras as I could think of by Feline Guitars, London. http://www.felineguitars.com/index.html
