Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young (and variants); The Beatles; The three big Yardbirds guitarists and their various bands, Fleetwood Mac... yeah mostly sixties stuff... then there's Rush, Coldplay, John Mayer, Nickel Creek... basically anything with good songwriting, guitar, and good vocals help.
Classical music really doesn't count as bands, but whatever. Tchaikovsky and Richard Strauss are my favorite composers.
