Why I like my Kahler more than most Floyd Roses

Okay so I have a somewhat custom guitar from a shop in Las Vegas - and contrary to everything considered holy in the tremolo world, I did NOT get a Floyd Rose installed on my guitar, rather, I got a Kahler.

Now I don't care what happens, nothing will ever be widely accepted as better than FR's. But to be perfectly honest, I love my Kahler, and personally I like it better than FR's. You don't have the palm-mute problem, the bar is much easier to use and sensitive.

Now let's face the three big complaints people always point out: the strings go flat when you bend, the return isn't as fast, and sustain suffers. Well let me tell you what - if you know how to take basic care of your guitar, I've never really had problems with any of these. Read forums and blogs, with most people if you put on the strings the right way, strings hardly ever go flat when you bend. and if they do, a quick dip on the whammy actually brings it back up. And at least for me, my guitar has great natural sustain, so ringing out notes and the whammy return is just as strong when coupled with my solid Duncan Black/Back pickups.

And chances are, if you have a Kahler, your guitar should be high-quality enough to be built well and therefore have great natural sustain and strong pickups.

So there ya go - Kahlers to me are more solid and reliable than what the public guitar world gives them credit for.
