Hey brother, would you do me a favor and tell me the name of the musician you posted as an example of not needing expensive gear to make good music? I wanna get a piece of this.

Certainly, he's called 'Seasick Steve' and you can find out all about him here: http://www.seasicksteve.com/

Will do, good sir! So you're into the blues too huh? It's intense. Son House is probably my favorite artist, but I feel kinda bad trying to do my pale, feeble imitation of him.

son house is one of the best. love the old delta players! as well as the great muddy waters and howlin' wolf too... aint notin' better. very glad to hear from a fellow blueser here

Sorry brah, I'd be happy "Broken String Blues" with you if I had it recorded. I also don't have any lyrics for it, it's just what I decided to call it after it happened several times.

too bad man, I love shit like that. lemme know if you ever record it!

I rarely find other Mission Of Burma fans. Good work madam! Trem Two is likely my favorite of their songs.

<3 the Burma cats. Gonna try & catch 'em in Brooklyn next month. I saw them this past winter, it was sweet, even though Vs. was underrepresented in the set. They did play "Trem Two" though, so it was all good. Plus I even got to (briefly) talk to Clint & Roger afterward.

This is totally irrelevant, but I could watch your avatar all day. So, y'know, good work on picking one.

Thanks :D

I'm gonna skip the thread and just post this here, if you're getting into folk music, check out The Anthology Of American Folk Music. The one put together by Harry Smith. It's fantastic, and well-worth the 70 bucks or so I'll run you.

I'm plenty into folk music already, but I'll check it out anyways. Never know if you missed something! Thanks.

Which Godz, the far-out quasi hippies from New York or the Ohio band from the 70's?

The former, the 'proto-No-Wavers.'

How much is the subscription?

The Birthday Party is better than Grinderman. Just sayin'.

Birthday Party are good but Grinderman are more consistantly good, Birthday party have some annoying songs.

Dude I love Lux's voice and just The Cramps style in general. Is Shadowplay a Joy Division reference?

word. i think its funny, i have an atomship shirt, all black with the white alien rabbit logo, and it always confuses the shit out of people. no matter how often i explain its a band people still are like "wtf?" and i love it. they kick so much ass.

Ever listened to OneSideZero? They're first album "...is this room getting smaller?" is honestly one of my favorites of all time and they are sort of similar to Atomship.
