short history lesson

Current mood: crazy

For those that don't know about history...... here is a condensed version.

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were:
1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer.

These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men.

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jack---.

Modern liberals have grown to dislike beer, but prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history.......

islam (no its not peaceful!)

Current mood: crazy

So me and Nathan_393 were talkin a couple hours ago about his blog called "Aqsa Parvez" ( http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/Nathan_393/blog /13647/ ) its a good blog check it out.. but we got to talking about "peaceful" islam.. and how its really not peaceful at all...

have you ever noticed that the ones that are blowing themselves up and commiting mass murders are the ones that actually read the quran and actually are strick about its teachings?... and the muslims that arnt really "gung-ho" about it and just kinda go through the motions everyday and dont really get into the deep meaning of it all are the ones that think its peacefull? anyways.. consider this quote...

"Truthfully your condeming of our faith would probably have you warned, and if you persisted, would have consequences, of which i am not sure. But there have been cases where people have been put to death for MALICIOUSLY harming the image of our noble master Muhammad, the best creation of God. But you fail to see that islam means peace, just as when we meet each other and say 'assalamu alaikum' 'peace be upon you' to our brothers. We are a tolerant religion, and our communities have and still have many faiths still practicing their own religions in islamic land. From the time of the prophet up until today."
The preceding quote was received via e-mail from a Muslim. Notice that he says Islam is a religion of peace, yet that there would be "consequences" for me in my condemnation of Islam. He then mentions how people have been killed for harming the image of Mohammed. Quite frankly, Mohammed damages his own image when he marries multiple women, advocates lying, and spreads his religion by the sword.
Nevertheless, is Islam a religion of peace? Many of its advocates say that it is.  Let's see what the Qur'an actually says.

  1. The Qur'an tells muslims to kill and go to war to fight for Islam:  Quran, chapters (Surahs) 9:5; 2:191; 2:193; 3:118; 4:75,76; 5:33, 8:12; 8:65; 9:73,123; 33:60-62.
  2. Fight for Allah:  "And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers, (Quran 2:191).
  3. Muslims are to battle for Allah:  "Those who believe do battle for the cause of Allah; and those who disbelieve do battle for the cause of idols. So fight the minions of the devil. Lo! the devil's strategy is ever weak," (Quran 4:76).
  4. Kill those against Islam:  "The only reward of those who make war upon Allah and His messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world, and in the Hereafter," (Quran 5:33).
  5. Beheading:  "When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger. 13That is because they opposed Allah and His messenger. Whoso opposeth Allah and His messenger, (for him) lo! Allah is severe in punishment," (Quran 8:12).
  6. Allah urges war:  "O Prophet! urge the believers to war; if there are twenty patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand," (Quran 8:65).
  7. Slay non-muslims:  "Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful," (Quran 9:5).
  8. Allah urges war:  "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination," (Quran 9:73).
  9. Allah urges war:  "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard (against evil)," (Quran 9:123).
  10. Allah urges killing: "...the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is a disease and the agitators in the city do not desist... 61Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a (horrible) murdering. 62(Such has been) the course of Allah with respect to those who have gone before; and you shall not find any change in the course of Allah, (Quran 33:60-62).
  11. Beheading:  "Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens..." (Quran 47:4).
  12. Allah loves those who fight for him.  "Truly Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure," (Quran 61:4).
As you can see, the Qur'an definitely teaches that it's people are to fight for the cause of Islam. This list of verses is important because they are within the holy book of Islam. What are we to conclude if a Muslim or to take the Quran seriously? Is he not obligated to slay non-Muslims, to go to war, to kill those against Islam, etc.? Isn't this what the verses are teaching? Yes, they are and this is the source of Islamic Terrorism.

Salvation

In Islam, there is no guarantee of salvation except in one instance, dying in Jihad. Jihad is the struggle, the battle against those who would oppose Islam are what Islam stands for. This is very important because in the Muslim religion, there is no guarantee of salvation. Please consider the following verses
Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy, 7 Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction. 8 But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light,- 9 Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. (Surah 101:6-9)
In Islam, there is no assurance that the Muslim will be forgiven of his sins. As you can see, the Quran teaches a system of works righteousness. Therefore, no Muslim can ever know whether or not he has done enough good in order to please Allah. This is a burden that many Muslims do not like to bear.

Jihad

If we can see that the Islamic system of salvation based upon works cannot guarantee salvation, but fighting in jihad can, and we could see why Muslims terrorists would be eager to die (and take others with them) for the cause of their religion. It is the only way they can be guaranteed paradise. It is this fundamental principle in Islam that encourages terrorism.
  • "Let those fight in the cause of Allah Who sell the life of this world for the hereafter. To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah,- whether he is slain or gets victory - Soon shall We give him a reward of great (value)." (4:74, Yusifali).
  • "Allah's Apostle said, "Allah guarantees (the person who carries out Jihad in His Cause and nothing compelled him to go out but Jihad in His Cause and the belief in His Word) that He will either admit him into Paradise (Martyrdom) or return him with reward or booty he has earned to his residence from where he went out," (Hadith Vol. 9, Book 93, # 555).
Do Muslims practice the Qur'an principle of killing non Muslims?  Yes they do.  Following is a list of some articles that you can read a demonstrate some of the actions taken by Moslems in different parts of the world.
Since Islam teaches that the entire world is to be subjected to its laws, we need to prepare ourselves to withstand the future attacks motivated from the Quran that teaches killing in subjection of the unbelievers. We Christians need to be in prayer for the Muslims so that they would come to know the truth of who Jesus is and follow his peaceful ways, instead of promoting Islam by the sword.

The Prophet said, "Yes," Muhammad bin Maslama said, "Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab). "The Prophet said, "You may say it," (Hadith Vol. 5, Book 59, #369). ban smoking?

Current mood: crazy

the question came up in the papers recently so i thought i would say somthing on it for kicks and giggles... lol

Is it a good idea to ban smoking in public places? Or is banning public smoking an infringement on our rights? Michigan is one of only seven states that isn't covered by a no smoking law of some kind. Over 50% of Americans are covered in some way by a no smoking act or law. Personally I am not a smoker, but I do believe the government should stay out of the peoples way as much as possible, smoking included. I think it should be up to the property owner whether or not he or she will allow smoking or not, whether it is a bar, pool hall or bowling ally it should be up to the property owner, not the local government. If you think about it, yes it is a "public" place but, its still private property, and on that property the owner should be able to make the rules. If you don't like smoke then just don't go there. It's that simple, yes it's kind of mean, rude and unthoughtful of me, but it's the truth. Say a patron attends a resturant where smokers are present. He is offended by the odor and drafts a petition to make the restaurant smoke free. If the owner obliges, he can lose a large amount of profits. A high percentage of people in bars are smokers. How long can a bar owner keep a customer there if all the customer wants is a cigarette but cant? Then should you put him practicaly out of business just cause you want to go there too without smelling like smoke? To say that no one in that city or township can smoke in public is pretty communistic if you ask me. Controling the public in a very real sense is Socialism and Communism, step by step our freedoms are walking away, to protect us all from ourselves.

most embarrassing moment?

Current mood: crazy

i was out with a girl today and she asked me "What was your most embarrising moment?"

That's a tough one because I, like most people have had a ton of them. But the one that tops them all is definitely the time I was at a Christian camp up in the upper peninsula of Michigan and I was water skiing for the first time ever. Now one thing you got to understand is I'm about 13 and I was really tall for my age. To buy clothes that were long enough in the legs, my mom would have to buy my swimsuits slightly too big in the waist. So then the disaster strikes. I'm going along just fine. Everything is going good and then I hit a wave the wrong way and know I’m going down. Now, at that moment I was thinking I should just let go of the rope and everything will be fine. But no, I didn't, I could not let go of that rope. As I fell my swim trunks were ripped off so fast it was like it didn’t even happen. And it is not like they just came to my ankles and stopped, no, they few off into no-where land and sunk in the lake. But I’m still holding on to the rope for some unknown reason! I'm just flopping around on top of the water holding on for no apparent reason showing my white butt (among other things) to all the pretty girls on the boat. Now as if that’s not bad enough, the girl I had a crush on was on the boat, and I had no swim trunks on anymore and I was totally naked in the cold U.P. lake waters. So then, what is there to do? Well... get into the boat of course! As I climbed up in the boat all the people on the boat are laughing way too hard to think of getting me a towel or something. So I just stood there, for what seemed like an eternity before someone handed me a towel. That was one long awkward ride back. I haven’t gone swimming in a lake since.

christmas for none christians?

Current mood: crazy

someone one brought up the topic to me "why do Aethiest celibrate Christmas?"

well... That is an incredibly good question. Why do non-Christians celebrate Christmas? Well, I believe it's because now a days it doesn’t have anything to do with God at all, for most people. All Christmas is to non-Christians (even some Christians sadly) is just a time where friends and family get together and exchange expensive gifts. Some people lie to their kids about some creepy guy that breaks and enters into their house, eats the kids cookies, then he might leave the kids some gifts if they have been good all year. Now, to me, that is not Christmas.

Christmas started as a celebration of Christ's birth. It came from the Catholic church calling it Christ's mass. It was a mass devoted to Christ’s birth (the gift part and the trees and all of that mumbo-jumbo came later when the non-Christians started celebrating their version of Christmas). It did not start as a time where you worshiped a false god-like character. A man that sees everything you do therefore he is omniscience, he would be omnipresent to give all them gifts in one night, and omnipotent if he could make all the gifts he gave to everyone in the world. No, those are attributes only given to God? How did we get to giving all of those Godly attributes to a factious character and convincing our kids he is real?

Anyways that’s kind of off topic, so how do I feel about non-religious people celebrating a Christian holiday? Well truthfully, it doesn't bother me all that much, because they really don't celebrate Christmas in my eyes. Am I offended about that? No, just like I'm not offended by someone saying "mom and mom" or "dad and dad" or "mom and dad" for that matter, because people get offended way too easy now a days. Americans need to toughen up, stop being such crybabies and getting "offended" so easily at every little thing there is.

Just as a side note have you ever noticed when someone says something like, "take down the Ten Commandments because it MIGHT offend someone" even though no one was actually offended? it was just "because it MIGHT offend someone." I don't get why people try to be politically correct all the time, what a boring life that must be. Personally it’s ridiculous to me how people get "offended" so easily.

gun control-- fallow the leader?

Current mood: pessimistic

Fallow the Leader?

Not long ago I was talking to a old man in his late seventies waiting in line at Wal-Mart, he had noticed I was buying some shotgun shells and asked me if I was going to go shooting. I smiled and said, "No sir, I am just stocking up because I ran out earlier this week." He chuckled a little bit then proceeded to tell me a story about when he was younger. He said, "Back when I was not much older then you, a man broke into my house when me and my wife were asleep. My wife woke me up and told me someone had kicked the back door in. I grabbed my pistol from my nightstand and then slowly walked down stairs. As I reached the bottom of the stairs I saw the man in the kitchen. I told him to give up or I’ll shoot him in the butt. The man put his arms up and slowly walked over to me pretending to surrender. When he got close to me he pulled a knife out and tried to stab me so I shot him two times." I stood there for a second thinking about what this guy just said then replied, " Good for you, a man has to protect his fort." He laughed and said, "Yeah, the police took that gun away for evidence so I went and got another just like her. It would be ignorant not to be prepared, wouldn’t be prudent."

Later on that day, still thinking of the man’s story, I wondered what he would have done if he did not have his gun? No doubt he would have had to either lose everything, watching some guy with a knife take anything he wanted, or he would have had to go down with a fight. Either way would not have had a good outcome. To say a person cannot protect his or her estate with a gun is unjust and un-American. To be able to protect yourself, your family, and what you own with the option of lethal force should be a right of every law-abiding citizen in this country.

In America today, less then half of the population have guns in their homes. If we were to put ourselves in the mind of someone who wants to break into our homes, what would be more preferable to break into, a home that is armed or unarmed? Well considering that most people have self-preservation as a primary instinct, we would all pick the unarmed home. With this in mind, if every home in America were armed, what would be the effect on the number of robberies, rapes and kidnappings that are committed in our homes? Logically, there would be a significant decrease of these types of crimes. But let us take this to the extreme that some wish were a reality, if no homes in America were armed people would have nothing stopping them from just breaking into our homes and doing whatever they please with our families and our property.

The idea of being able to use deadly force to protect ones home or property is a law in affect in most of the states in America. The "Castle Doctrine" is the term commonly used to refer to the right of citizens to use deadly force to protect their home and family without worrying about being prosecuted for protecting it. The "Castle Doctrine" was instituted in Michigan in October of 2006, Michigan law section 728.21c states; "…the common law of this state applies except that the duty to retreat before using deadly force is not required if an individual is in his or her own dwelling or within the curtilage of that dwelling." Being able to protect yourself from an intruder is an option we all should have. In my opinion, the right to own a gun and the option to secure a CCW (concealed carried weapon) permits should be a rights of all Americans. The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution agrees with me.

Recently in a shopping mall in Omaha, Nebraska, a teenager walked into the mall, got to the third floor with an AK-47 assault rifle and killed eight people and wounded two others before committing suicide. If one armed citizen was there with a CCW the outcome could have been totally different. Even at the Virginia Tech School shooting not long ago, if just one professor had a gun in his brief case or locked in his desk the outcome could have been completely different. In the case of Alaska’s "Castle Doctrine" it expands to include all areas of a persons life including: workplace, shopping mall, parks, anyplace you might be. That is the way it should be in all of America.
When guns were taken away from the every day citizen the out come has been less then desirable.
    • In 1929 the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953 approximately 20 million dissidents, who were unable to defend themselves were exterminated.
    • In 1911 Turkey established gun control. From 1915-1917 one and a half million Armenians, who were unable to defend themselves, were exterminated.
    • In 1938 Germany established gun control, and from 1939 to 1945, thirteen million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, mentally ill, and others who were unable to defend themselves, were exterminated.
    • In 1935 China established gun control, from 1948 to 1952, twenty million political dissidents, who were unable to defend themselves were exterminated.
    • In 1964 Guatemala established gun control, from 1964 to 1981, one hundred thousand Mayan Indians, who were unable to defend themselves were exterminated.
    • In 1970 Uganda established gun control, from 1971 to 1979, three hundred thousand Christians, who were unable to defend themselves were exterminated.
    • In 1956 Cambodia established gun control, from 1975 to 1977, one million "educated" people, who were unable to defend themselves were exterminated.
Paul Harvey, from the "Paul Harvey Show" on 760am radio once said, "The total victims who lost their lives because of gun control at approximately 56 million in the last century. Since we should learn from the mistakes of history, the next time someone talks in favor of gun control, find out which group of citizens they wish to have exterminated." (Harvey)
If humanity were apt to learn from history gun control taken to the extreme of disarming law-abiding citizens would be abandoned. Consider this quote from Adolph Hitler in 1935;
"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future." (Hitler)
Unfortunately, it seems most countries and more recently, America, are indeed following his lead.

weak Christians?

Current mood: melancholy

So today a guy at school called me "weak" for being a Christian. I promptly punched him in the face without any warning what so ever and as he was lying on the floor I screamed in his face asking if that was "weak". Haha, seriously, it was sweet to see his reaction, he was totally not expecting that lol…
Anyway I would like to inform what little readers if have of why people got the impression that Christians should be weak and shouldn’t fight back…
The verse that comes to everyone’s mind is when Jesus said the whole "turn the other cheek" thing right? Of course, we were all told to do that as kids right?
Well, lets have a look at that statement again and see what it really means.
This is really hard to explain in writing but ill try…
In culture back then things were not necessarily "sanitary conditions" to say the least. But they had a good little system going, everything dirty that you did would have to be done with your left hand (or whatever non dominate hand you were). And only "clean" things were to be done with your right hand. Such as eating and stuff… your left hand was used from everything from wiping your ass to cleaning up after your animals. With that in mind remember, they were very strict about this, you were not to touch someone with your dirty hand.
So what does that have to do with turning the other cheek?
Well, lets imagine were in Jesus’s time I just said a "yo momma" joke and your pissed at me. So you want to go slap me now, (a slap back then meant you’re a low life and not worth a punch [a real mans fight]) so as you go to slap me I turn my cheek facing your slap. WAIT! Now you cant slap me! Oh no! you cant hit me with your dirty hand that’s against the rules! So now what do you have to do? You have to punch me! Meaning, were equal and I’m worthy of a punch. Now we can fight as real men, equals.
Jesus wasn’t a weak man. He was a freaking genius! Turning your other cheek doesn’t mean that you have to take 2 hits… means you force that guy to either back down, or admit your equals and fight a "real mans fight" by punching. I hope I explained this well enough and you get what I’m trying to say. If not let me know and ill try to explain it better
