Guitar is an octave below actual pitch notation. If you tried to play something written for piano on guitar, you would have to play an octave higher. Music for guitar is written fine but you have to transpose an octave higher for piano.
Now, actual Middle C is on the first fret B string.
If you're reading music for guitar and you see Middle C, you should play 3rd fret A string.
Music for guitar is written an octave higher to counteract the 1 octave below nature of the instrument. If you got any questions, feel free to PM me. quote |
