BTBAM tabs from the album "Colors" in GP format

ok. first off, i'd like to state that all you people who are posting BTBAM tabs out of their Colors Talbature book, are fucking retarded. you are taking hard earned money away from them by posting their tabs on UG. let me explain for the morons who dont understand.

1. Underground bands dont make much money, its a given fact. they dont get paid to get on the radio, they dont make major CD sales, and they dont get much advertising out there. so they DONT make much money. this is why they rely so heavily on band merch and other shit. if it weren't for merch, we wouldnt have the heavy underground bands we listen to today.

2. Posting tabs out of a guitar talbature book that is in fact COPYRIGHTED, is ILLEGAL. you may not care, but the rest of us do, so dont stain UG with illegal material, causing it to possibly get SHUT DOWN. yes thats right, SHUT DOWN. other guitar tab sites have been shut down because they had copyright infringements. meaning PEOPLE POSTED OUT OF COPYWRITTEN BOOKS. you cannot do this. if you do that, that means that UG could be permanantely shut down, so dont ruin it for the rest of us just for a few fucking points for a 5 star tab.

3. BTBAM made this book so they can survive, and pay for new things, and EARN THEIR LIVING. you make it so people can access this book on the internet for free, people wont buy the book, making BTBAM's effort on the book totally pointless and a waste of their time and energy.

so do us all a favor. stop posting this shit. we're all fans of the band, so please dont ruin it for them and us, the fans. please reconsider.

that is all.

*Edit*
okay i am not denouncing tabature as everyone seems to think i am.
and i know that most tab books are not made by bands themselves.
but this one was.
i know this as an outstanding fact.
so please, no more telling me "you dont know what you're talking about" or "you entirely miss the purpose of guitar tabature"
trust me, if you knew BTBAM as well as i do,
you'd agree =)
if you dont know who Between The Buried And Me Are or if you've heard the name but dont know their music and their message too well, then please just skip over this blog. its not for you, its more for BTBAM fans. no offense of course!!

yeah i totally agree with you but i do want to say they technically arent an underground band anymore apparently the cd sales for colors were pretty well and they made it onto the top 100 for the week they started selling. But i still completely agree with you they are basically slapping Paul in the face, and you arent suppose to slap god.

^Yeah, they actually made it to #57, which is awesome for a band of BTBAM's nature. As stated before though, they are still on an indie label and probably don't make very much money at all, and I'm sure they got a very small percentage of how much their album did make, so support the band!!

^BTBAM's label is bad, in terms of people listen to bands from that label, they really need a new record label

i agree with you completely about the legality of posting the tabs straight from the book. i do have an argument though. i think it should be fine to put stuff like solos up cause i'm sure that would encourage people to buy the tab book. white walls for instance. everybody knows the song for it's solo. say someone tabs it out in standard ug form and puts this is from the colors tab book buy it to get the rest of the song and it has a link. i believe that's a great idea. posting entire songs though hell no. paul waggoner is one of the nicest and most laid back dudes i've met and he did the tab book as a favor to everybody and we shouldn't take away from his hard work. good post

i may be wrong though. either way i think ripping off the book is wrong. i'm going to buy the book myself cause i have so much respect for the band

i completely agree with the cause, theya re my favorite band but they definately arent underground, their signed to a label and go on sponsord tours and are played on MTV. haha, report the copied tabs so they are forced to get the tab book!

not arguing with your point but bands survive off of shows, rody walker once mentioned something about someone buying the cd to support the band, and to sum it up he was like. 'Oooh, a whole ten dollars! that will almost buy me a beer!'

Dude that's completely right, BTBAM and other bands should also make tab books in guitar pro format though, cause its so much better than paper tabs, nice job on sticking up for BTBAM though man (Y)
