I fucking hate Ayn Rand. We had to read Anthem in English class. Worst book ever. She argues against straw men the whole time and attacks ideas that on one ever espoused. I also hate how my school sends mixed messages to us. We are told to live for ourselves and only be concerned with our own wellbeing and caring for others is evil, but they expect us to send our time to volunteer in our community. Ayn Rand is stupid and if you think that she has good ideas, you are stupid too.
I <3 ayn rand so much. Shes the best author that has ever lived. Ayn Rand shows what the world will look like when people use need to evaluate it rather than who deserves it. When we worship need and think solely of the destitute, then we reward absence and worship the 0.

Randian Objectivism falls on its face anyway. I'm going to blog about it eventually, but the fundamental Axiom of Consciousness assumes that sensory perception is objective. That pretty much takes care of anyone who would claim reality is objective...and moral objectivity presupposes that happiness is objective and also assumes social responsibility.
