Hey Greg I've just come across a Crate vc 1020 and was wondering how you got inside it to change out the tubes. As you stated in your review it's a great little amp on the cheap. I paid 165.00 and am having a blast with it. I just don't wanna take out the wrong screws first and have a hard time getting it back together. I've seen some conflicting reports on removing the front and or going in through the back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks mod59dc

Just noticed some more of your comments on the speakers :o

Yeah the rw+b and se is probably a bit low- i think that cab's at the back of my cabinet fort :haha

Funnily enough I didn't really like the anniversary g12h30s alone. I thought they had a bit of a hard edge which I didn't really like (though that could easily go when they break in). I much prefer the heritage g12h30s on their own (and i figured I didn't need both, especially when the anniversary g12h30s combined well with the v30s).

and yeah the et65s are nice. they're not too modern and not too vintage, so work well for a lot of stuff.

I still think i like the taydens the best, though. Or at least it's probably a toss-up between them and the heritage g12h30s. Oh and I like the v12s best with the jet city.
