Zydeco Music

As some of you know I live in Texas and we in fact do have a lot of Cajun population, what sort of fret work would work well with zydeco music? I've been trying some walking bass lines, any other ideas?

I'd start with the walking bass lines and maybe a bluesy/Hendrix strum pattern? Zydeco music stemmed from Blues and Jazz so stick with those patterns and it'll work just fine. learn Ida, her songs sometimes have some guitar work in there that sounds pretty good.
