Favorite bands :
Absolutely Les Luthiers...
I also pretty much like RHCP, but haven't heard them for a while now...
There are bands I like, but not which I obssess about. Some local ones, or Argentinian, or popular ones. I enjoy their music, but sometimes I don't even know the names of the songs :p:
Now I don't have much time to try to listen to new bands or songs (because of college, and because I don't feel like), and also my PC is near the top regarding hard disk space....
And without being bands, I enjoy classical music, like Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven, Pachebell, Bach, and some classical guitarists, like Tarrega, or Carulli even...
And I absolutely LOVE renassaince flute music (specially the one made by trovadors (sp?), and when nearer to the middle ages the better)...
Favorite guitarists :
Well, regarding modern music, I would go with Frusciante, John Butler, and some more...
I don't have favourites, just people I enjoy listening too (which are a lot)...
For classical guitar I would go with Tarrega, but well, he is pretty much the only one I listened (apart from the ones I have to learn in my classical guitar lessons). Although John Williams too, Agustin Barrios, Villa-Lobos, and that guy Pepe Romero...
Then Paco de Lucia for flamengo maybe, and along with Al Di Meola and John MacLaughin they sound pretty good...
Also Guthrie Govan, Andre Krendel, Django Reindhardt, Napoleon Coste, Nick Drake, etc...
Favorite bassists :
Absolutely Michael Balzary....
But I enjoy any funk bassist, like Les Claypool, Bootsy Collins, or that guy from Sly & F stone (yeah, Larry Graham), as well as bassists who perform nice melodies and not just root notes...
Favorite books :
I like how Stephen King writes, even though his books aren't exactly the most amazing things in the world (like Buick 8, It, etc..). Although I have yet to read his Dar k Tower series...
Then Horacio Quiroga's short stories too (not books technically, but he did release books with a lot of short stories in it). I love his stories...
I am not much of a reader, I already read too much for college, like "Do Quijote de la Mancha", Cortazar's stuff, Edgar Alan Poe, etc...
Favorite tv :
The 29 inches....
Oh you mean shows?
Then I would have to go with:
The Simpsons, The Office, Scrubs, Prison Break, Futurama, Sport channels (specially football), and anything I find or funny or interesting (can't remember most of the names of the shows)...
I check Discovery channel from once in a while...
Favorite movies :
Any Les Luthiers musical or show.
Evil Dead:the most hilarious movie ever
Star Wars:liked all of them. I don't know why people said the first 3 episodes sucked, but I liked how it flows (and all the plotholes can be answered by "Anakin is a stupid idiot")
Lord of the Rings:mostly because of the atmosphere and nice photography, which makes me feel cosy
Fight Club:Never knew how Edward Norton didn't kill himself, but was good
Pans Labyrynth:there are some plotholes (like how the girl crossed locked doors) but the whol environment is good and the dual story too
James Bond series:mostly to see Bond make a wheelie with a truck, or a 360º spin with a rolls-royce (or the aston martin, I can't remember)
The Departed:who doesn't like Leonardo di Caprio dying in films :p
Amadeus:Gotta love Tom Hulce with a pink wig
Godfather:epic
One flew over the cuckoos nest: although I have to say, after the whole "party and sex" night, I didn't understand a THING!! Maybe because of the film adaptation, I guess the book explains it better
Apocalypse now:I really enjoyed that film, except when the little puppy is tossed from the ship
Shawshank Redemption:Loved everything about the movie, and I am surprised it is one of Stephen King's books that actually has a HAPPY ENDING (or at least not a cliffhanger one)
I also enjoy most "suspense" movies, really good horror ones, funny spoof ones (like Airplane, Naked Gun, or maybe Evil Dead I suppose), movies with plot-twists and the ones that require some thinking, and some action ones (like Die hard, James Bond, etc)
oh **** there are like a lot more but I can't remember them now. I have been doing a "film frenzy" with my father, so I will add more eventually..
Hi, I am Gonzalo and am 17 years old and I am from Uruguay. I go to scientific college (bachillerato called here), play guitar, play videogames, log in UG, go to the gym, and hang out with friends...
I play classical guitar, and I wish I had an electric one too.
