Morley Power Wah

I tried one for the second time today, this time with my Fulltone Bass Drive present as well.

It is really a situation of so close, yet so far as to how I want a wah to sound.

When I ran the wah behind the distortion, when I played lower down the neck, especially on the low B, I could get a great sound. Think of the distorted Wah in "The Pot" by Tool. When I played with the wah first, I could get some nice wahing midrange tones.

But other than imitating The Pot, I could not find a use for the pedal. My Q-tron and some subtle dynamic control gets closer the the "Calm Like a Bomb" wah sound than thism and this pedal didn't even get close to those screaming Cliff Burton sounds. And he used an older Morley power wah boost.

The range on the pedal just felt to small. In the middle of moving my foot there was a gret section of really dramamtic sweep, but for what felt like a third of the the sweep on either side, it had no more effect. It just left me wishing I could "push" the wah even firther in both directions.

Now, it sounded good, but it has left me truely confused as to what wahs I sould be looking at. The bass wah market doesn't seem to cater for those metal wah sounds, just every funk wah sound you could wish for. Back to the drawing board...
