I'm a freethinker, meaning I believe that beliefs should be formed on the basis of science and logic and should not be influenced by emotion, authority, tradition, or any dogma. I'm also a secular humanist, which is a humanist philosophy that upholds reason, ethics, and justice, and specifically rejects the supernatural and the spiritual as warrants of moral reflection and decision-making. In addition to that I am a staunch scientific rationalist and sceptic.
I feel the thought that "everything happens for a reason" is a preposterously ridiculous idea, as is fate.
