Matt_Synyster wrote on Dec 30th, 2007 8:57pmHey man ^^,
how do you find the V3?
I really feel it's the amp for me, I play hard rock to metal, but I will be using cleans too. The 3 channels on the V3 is just ideal for what I need, and all the other bells and whistles on the amp I'm sure will be put to use.
For the soft tones I'm looking for a Jimmy Page kinda sound. For hard rock I'm looking for Slash's tone (Velvet Revolver/G'n'R). That DOESNT mean I want the amp to sound like a Marshall, I'm just wondering if I can achieve anything like his tone. For metal, something like Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Rammstein. Just tight low end and nice highs.
I live in the UK so I don't fancy shipping the amp back and forth from the US, is this thing built well and reliable? Has anyone had any problems with it? quote |

hmmm_de_hum wrote on Sep 8th, 2007 10:19amLol dont worry about the post it's fine, well my band are using standard B tuning and i have a 62 on there at the moment, the other guitarist has a 64 on his C-7 blackjack (we like a lot of tension in the lower strings)As far as i'm aware non of us have noticed any problems with using the slightly heavier strings, experiment with a heavier gauge and if you get any issues about it going through the peg dont try and force it. quote |
