The name's Shaun, and I love music. I know it's a bit cliched, but I honestly can't imagine a life without music: from the kind that seems to make you feel short of breath, makes the hairs on your neck stand on end and take you to another plain of existence, to the kind that just makes you want to dance, I think life would be pretty hollow without it. My second love is reading, as with music, I love anything that makes you look at life in a different or just takes you into another world for a few hours. I've been playing guitar for about six or seven years now and it's the first thing I reach for if I have a spare moment or two.
I hail from the town of Kilmarnock, in South-West Scotland, where Robert Burns came to get drunk and published (though not necessarily in that order), birthplace of William Wallace, 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?'s Colin Mochrie, two thirds of alt-rock band Biffy Clyro and the song 'Ballroom Blitz', (The Sweet were playing the town's 'Palace Theatre' when half way through the show, a riot ensued, and the band were forced to leave), and where Johnnie Walker's Whisky is bottled (at least until the factory is closed down next year... bloody recession!!!) so it's quite an interesting town!
