I read a lot of First World War literature, it's probably my favourite theme to read at the moment, books like Birdsong, the Regeneration Trilogy, Under Fire, All Quiet on the Western Front I highly recommend. I read a fair bit of poetry, too. Shit's awesome brah. |
Sound kvlt :P
I like reading about both World Wars, maybe I'll pickup a few of the one's you mentioned.

metallifan3091 wrote on Nov 24th, 2009 5:55amLike I said, I totally understand where you're coming from with that. There are definitely some awfully convenient occurrences in that movie, but I felt like the message overall came through quite well, even if the plot was a little bit too contrived. I still have to watch Waking Life, I Heart Huckabees, and Seven Pounds. Have you seen any of those? quote |
metallifan3091 wrote on Nov 23rd, 2009 1:16amI watched Crash. I can see why you didn't like it, but I really enjoyed it. Its true that the plots all coming together is a little unrealistic(ok, maybe a lot) but I thought that the actors were excellent, and the film really evoked emotion, especially in the scene where the Middle Eastern man was threatening the Hispanic locksmith, and he inadvertently shot his daughter, and it turned out that he had blanks in his gun. I can definitely see why you didn't like it, and why other people wouldn't, but I really did. quote |

Exactly. I hate his whole dramatic approach to painting. The people in his paintings all look inhuman, either over or under-reacting. Same with Artemisia Gentielschi. Mind you, Poussin and his likes aren't much better, but my opinion stands.

After watching some of his performances for a while, I can say this is true. I can also say that Denis Leary is a scumbag and a disgrace to comedy.

A wonderful, funny, engrossing and beautiful film. That's quite a recommendation for it, but I think it deserves it. You'll love the music in it too, a brilliant score. |
I'll check it out tomorrow
I know the song childhood (1) on the piano, it's very beautiful and easy to learn (and teach, if you want some private time with a special somebody). Do you play any piano?
