Interests
Favorite bands :
Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Frusciante, Frank Zappa, Hendrix Experience, Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, Neil Young, Nick Cave, Parliament/Funkadeli c, Television, Joy Division, Sly and the Family Stone, The Police, Johnny Cash and the Tennessee 3, Garbage, Dead Kennedys, Ben Folds, Prince, fIREHOSE. There are some others, but I don't care enough to think that hard. I'm pretty self-centred as a musician.
Favorite guitarists :
John Frusciante, Lou Reed, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young
Favorite bassists :
Bootsy, Myself 3 or so years ago, JPJ, Entwistle, I don't know.
Favorite books :
I read rock star biographies. Also Douglas Adams books.
Favorite tv :
Simpsons, Family Guy, Scrubs, Spicks and Specks, The Chaser, 30 Rock, Boston Legal, Dumb Shit mostly. Oh, Breaking Bad.
Favorite movies :
I've been involved with some pretty cool shit. I don't think there are very many films deserving of the title 'great', but for various reasons I shall mention the following as highlights of my life (in vague chronological order of experience): Blue s Brothers - Best car chase ever. Also has Ray Charles being a bad-ass. The Devils - Great performance from 2 young stars. Anchorman - The original and best of the Will Ferrel comedy star vehicles. I don't know how they keep a straight face long enough to get all that improv (I'm a notorious on-set laugher). Ray - Just because I was so impressed with Jamie Fox. Gran Torino - Amazing swan song from a masterful performer and another jewel in his directing credits. I got emotional when Walter died. The Room - Tommy Wiseau manages to make an entire film without realising how bad he is at writing, acting, and directing. Surely one of his cast or crew told him. Die Hard 4.0 - He drives a car into a damn chopper. That alone is worth it, and the action only gets bigger. Little Big Man - Epic performance from Dustin Hoffman, and an epic film. Barney's Version - Paul Giamatti is an amazing actor. His descent to Alzheimer's made me cry. Also kind of a cool touch to have Dustin Hoffman handing over the 'epic life story' mantle to Giamatti.

About fleaflicker182
Another update for nobody that is 3 months behind the times.

Hi, I'm Reuben.

I moved from Perth, Western Australia to Melbourne, Victoria for fame and fortune 3 months ago. I have achieved neither.

Basically, I'm a man of multiple creative talents looking to capitalise on some of them for full-time employment. At the moment this is focused on the corporate video market.

I live in Sunshine North, in the western suburbs of Melbourne and have left most of my creative tools behind (basses, guitars, drums, a decent computer, recording gear, most of my creative software). I have a ukulele and obsolete Dell laptop to my name, along with my faithful Ricoh SLR camera (film is too expensive to shoot that often, though - I have about 5 unprocessed rolls of film).

So until I get a job, I'm learning all I can about life, love, and living with a bunch of dudes in a house.
