2009 NFL Mock Draft

Current mood: creative

1.) Detroit - Matthew Stafford QB - Lions SHOULD go OT right here but they wont, they are changing everything this year, uniforms, regimes, and now QB.

2.) Rams - Jason Smith OT - Orlando Pace's replacement pretty much.

3.) Kansas City - Aaron Curry OLB - Linebackers simply just don't hold enough postional value to go #1 even though he is the best player in this draft.  Kansas City wins because of this.

4.) Seattle - Mark Sanchez QB - Do I believe the Seahawks are selecting him? Not really, but he will be drafted #4 in this draft by someone.  Seahawks may just stay here with him.

5.) Cleveland - Brian Orakpo DE/OLB - Cleveland needs a better pash rush, he will certainly create havoc as a 3-4 end.

6.) Cincinnatti - Eugene Monroe OT - Help Carson Palmer stay on his feet. Possible WR here too.

7.) Oakland - Michael Crabtree WR - Help for J Russ and D Mac

8.) Jacksonville - Jeremy Maclin WR - The Jaguars have lost so many wide outs, they need one badly

9.) Green Bay - B.J Raji NT - The Packers are switching to a 3-4 and Raji would be a perfect pick for them.

10.) San Francicso - Andre Smith OT - A good value for the 49ers and is a high risk reward with a good coach.

11.) Buffalo - Michael Oher OT - They loss Jason Peters and need a replacemen.

12.) Denver - Malcolm Jenkins CB/S - They only have Champ Baily and need a better D to overcome a lack of offense.

13.) Washington - Tyson Jackson DE - Lost Jason Taylor and need a better D line.

14.) New Orleans - Knowshon Moreno RB - Reggie Bush is NOT an every down back.

15.) Houston - Clay Matthews OLB - Could really put them over the top into a good team finally.

16.) San Diego - Brian Cushing ILB - This pick will either be ILB or DE

17.) New York Jets - Josh Freeman QB - Jets sit pretty and get the QB.

18.) Denver - Everette Brown DE/OLB - Again to improve there poor D.

19.) Tampa Bay - Peria Jerry DT - A great pick up for the Bucs

20.) Detroit Lions - Ebon Britton OT - They didn't go OT with that first pick but still get a good talent at 20.

21.) Philadelphia - Robert Ayers DE - The Eagles have a vast history of making D-Line pics and RB is not a huge need like everyone thinks and they don't run as much as they should.

22.) Minnesota - William Beatty OT - This is to anchor the ride side of the line for that dual RB attack.

23.) New England - Rey Maualuga ILB - You can never have enough LB's in 3-4 and this a great pick up for the Pats.

24.) Atlanta - Brandon Pettigrew TE - A solid TE for a young Matt Ryan? Sounds like a good deal to me.

25.) Miami - Vontae Davis CB - One of the biggest needs along with a pass rusher.

26.) Baltimore - Darius Heyward-Bey WR - A great weapon for Flacco, will really help him develope.

27.) Indianapolis - Evander Hood DT - The Colts need a stronger run defense and this man will help.

28.) Buffalo - Aaron Maybin DE - The Bills could not get to the QB last year and Maybin will help fix that.

29.) New York Giants - Percy Harvin WR - A good value at this pick but character conerns may change this to a HB.

30.) Tennesse - Sean Smith CB/S - Great size and speed and can make a difference at any position in the secondary.

31.) Arizona - Donald Brown RB - A great pick up for the Cards, could be the best RB in this draft class.

32.) Pittsburgh - Eric Wood C - A solid pick for the Steelers.
