After contemplating what my soul animal would be, I came up with a wolf. They're pretty independant creatures who can live on their own and just roam and be wild, but they'll also live in packs and be very determined to protect what they love. So this poem is entitled "Soul of Wolf" about my envisionment.
"Soul of Wolf"
Dark lit forest trees swing in the wind
The glittering moonlight drips on their
leaves to the floor and the cracks of the grass
A lone wolf dashes across and shatters it,
only for a moment
before it returns
Going only on instinct he chases them down
Tree after tree is all the same, as long
as he avoids them they don't care
Silver lined skin like the sharp mirrored lake
showing him only what they'll ever see
the outside
But the moon tells him otherwise
his sanctuary
He knows where his others are
but they're unaware
He'll meet with them later
For now he just runs.
No matter how he tries
he can't escape how he feels
or what his consequences are
But he runs
and it's all about the here and now
no future thoughts
but that he'll see the moon again
He'll just run for one more day
Hope you're enjoying my blogs and poetry, message me or comment if you wanna talk or just be friends and such :]
"Life is but a Dream"
Life is but a dream, we're all never here
The past, our loves, our feelings, it's very simple my dear
When what we want is what we can't get
Epitomized hate we can never forget
So is what you think, but who can remember
Your dreams fade away like the last quiet ember
Life is a love in your mind and your heart
Time with that girl you can't bear to part
It's all choirs of voices singing their hymns
But eventually there sound grows ever dim
For with good comes the bad, and nightmares arise
Crumbling allies chared in demise
But follow it through, I'm at the end
My embracing stance, let our two souls blend
And I'll shake you awake as you lay on my side
A gentle warm kiss and your eyes open wide
You've seen your life and what's in your head
Now I'll show you mine if your get out of bed
Your beautiful blues stare right through my soul
Who ever said that life was so droll?
But you're here with me, or at least I thought...
But Life's just a dream, and I'm a dreamer who sought
I just wanna make a quick little disclaimer haha: I wrote a lot of these kinda darker ones when I was trying to get a girl I'm really into. so some are sweet while others get a little crazy or upsetting, but they shouldn't be taken seriously since they're just to entertain and tell a story. this is a crazy one :] enjoy
"I can manage life"
I can manage life, it's not that big a deal
Just throw away emotion, hell you don't need to feel
Senses are just senseless, sight is just a lie
Hearts are always beating, they always gotta try
But trying leads to crying all alone on your floor
Half a bottle of scotch calms the inner war
Yeah I can manage life, like a dollar end store
Shattered hopes and beaten dreams, top shelf asile four
You come in and I smile, doesn't mean a damn
You're just another one of them, and this is where I stand
Well actually I'm lying, to your face and on the floor
My fluffy pillow walls and tight jacket that's secure
I get a little window, walk some of the time
Sit, laugh, cry, haha hug it's on your dime
You know you stuck me here, surrounded by these walls
Psycho paths and zombies, here we have it all
I go whenever I please, but I can never truely leave
As you're reading my letter, I hope you'll always grieve
Because it won't be much longer, they can't hold me back
I'll get out and make you pay, they'lll never make me crack
Cuz I can handle this, I've got my own knife
I can manage life, I CAN MANAGE LIFE
Sorry for the long delay, just some much has been going on and everything and I haven't had time to really post anything. So here's a new one:
"Blasphemy"
I'm sorry for this blasphemy
Drown it all out with catestrophe
It'll never just come down to me
Ignoring all the faceless acts of apathy
But it doesn't matter actually
Drink it away with one more daiquiri
Where does it end? Hell where does it begin?
Let the water fill up this boat we're sinking in
And they'll be no more music, not after they're done
The rest of us here, hell they'll be next to none
But they don't give a damn, why should they care?
No on ever said this was gonna be fair
One more round, drink it down or spit it out
A burn for a burn, take that flame and make it drought
One more story, one more rhyme
One last dance, entranced by slowing time
But am I really sorry? What am I above?
Still I can't help wonder will she ever find my love
Sorry about these being delayed, but the teacher took the journal I write them in to review for a grade haha. Well here's the first one, check back regularly for new poems. The way I'll do it is I'll post one and leave it up for a day, then analyize it and tell you what it means, why I wrote it, and some common themes you'll be seeing. Enjoy :]
"If Only"
If only if were that way
Then we'd never go astray
On the good, the bad, the understood
The high, beneath all this earth and wood
For if simplicity were what we strive
We'd never know to be alive
Not a day passes without reason
Neglecting your thoughts, fighting your treason
One against self, self against time
Life without love, lost is not devine
To find each gift to hope through lore
Shaking existance with eternal rapport
And how we all know the way we'll end
Through out all this fire, in arms we all mend
For when held in embrace by a love not yet real
Is the only way to graciously feel
Wanting the touch of her warm velvet hand
Taking to heart by which not of demand
And it doesn't matter, this meaningless fight
To have her with me is all that is right
So I just switched semisters in school and am now in English class with some overly happy crazy lady of a teacher. It's not all that bad since everyday she makes us write in our "one a day journals" about some random words she throws up on the board that look like they've been cut from news papers or magazines.
Anyways, some of the prompts have actually evoked some decent poetry from me. I normally just write a page each day in the journal which isn't much at all, maybe like 20-30 lines. But starting Tuesday, Feb 17th, I'm gonna post the ones I've done so far and try to put a new one each day provided the prompt allows me to write poetically and not just spit back info.
I'll also write underneath it the word prompt, a description of the entire thing or just a line or two that I really liked about it. You can also check some of my threads under the lyrics and songwriting boards for a couple of my songs. I'm gonna get them up in here as well and do almost the same thing with them. Be on the look out and check back daily for new posts. Thanks
I am currently in a band called Suburban Cliche. I am the lead guitarist and back up vocals. My friend Cole plays rhythm guitar and he is one of the main singers for the harder type of rock songs. Frank, our bassist/pianist, sings some of the softer songs that are too high for our normal singer. Our drummer, Thom, is just awsome and is kinda there but it's all good. We don't stick to one type of genre. So far we've covered the Bealtes, AC/DC, Sweet, Nirvana, Rage against the machine, and a few others. As I said, we're pretty varied. We'd like to start writing our own stuff, but i don't think we're just there yet. I'd like to start recording some of our covers, and i'll put up our page on here soon so anyone can check it out if they want.
Hey,
I'm new to this whole ultimate guitar community so this is my introduction post. Music is my life, I'm sure everyone says that but who cares. It gets me through whatever and for any emotion or combination of there is a song that perfectly describes it. And when there isn't, I just whip out my acoustic and make it. I'm mainly a guitarist, but I'm also a song writer and I would absolutely love to sing. I want to take lessons very soon to sing rock, but if I could learn to sing My Chemical Romance my life would be comeplete. I'll post updates on new things I'm putting up or working on. I'll try to get my band's page up as well.
