Hey man, what's working on the predators like? I work 16's here in Misawa.

Very rewarding. Gonna be my fini-flight in a few days (even though i'm not technically aircrew, lol) so it'll have been over 4.5 years of UAV.
A lot of it's boring, but the good stuff kicks ass. Not sure I'll ever have a more rewarding job for the rest of my life. Very hands on with protecting our guys overseas

I'm considering doing a special assignment just to get out of here before my assigned time here is done. Either way, i still want to crosstrain into something else. That's probably the only way i'd stay in for more than one enlistment.

Hey man, there's always intel. It's a different kind of pressure, but if you can handle it it's well worth it.

We are a bit better off than the other services, so you're right about that. As Misawa... well, it probably shares its zip code with hell. It's pretty boring here for the most part and a lot of things just don't make much sense when it comes to work. The Japanese ppl here are really nice though.

Ahh, well that sucks. Once you've completed your required time on station, you should put in for Base of Preference or apply for a special duty assignment. Failing that, there's always the Careers program. I think that's what it's called, anyways. It basically guarantees you the opportunity to cross-train out of your field and into another during your first term as an airman.

Uh huh... i was originally gonna go intel in the army but figured the af would offer a better lifestyle... hah, what a load of bs! at least cuz i'm flightline... i'm aircraft armament systems on f-16s (commonly known as "weapons"). went to basic at the end of may of last year and then off to sheppard for tech school. arrived here in misawa in january and can't wait to pcs.

I have a lot of friends in the Army because all the bases I've been at so far have been joint service, and let me tell you, the Air Force is much better as far as how it treats its people. We may get treated like children compared to other services, but we also get taken care of better than they do. What's so bad about Misawa? I know it's completely different, but one of my friends from high school got stationed in Okinawa and he loves it there.

Probably the whole "jets" part? haha... i went to basic may last year and arrived here at misawa ab, japan this january. what about you? what's your job? i'm weapons.

I enlisted in September 08, shipped out March 09. I trained for roughly two years and got stationed in Maryland. I'm intel, but I can't really talk much about what I do. >.>

How did I know from reading this:
12hr shifts mon-fri (7pm-7am), weekend duty, and then 7pm-7am this week again... Even worse? I never actually get out at my 12hr mark. Luckily for me i got sent home today since they didn't actually need me at work.
that you would be in the Air Force? :p:

How long have you been in, fellow airman?

And about the hugging thing, I usually don't like it that much either, except with people I'm close with.
