Future gear, future debt.

After much research and consideration, i have come up with a list of equipment that i would like to own. I know it seems like a lot of effects but yeah, i'm an effect junky. Right now i still have my old X3 Live and still love it to death because of all the options it has but the sound just doesn't cut it all. It's nice for practice i'll admit, but when it comes down to it i just don't like the sound at all. I guess i finally reached that point in which i finally understand tone (i know, i know... having so many pedals could quite well end up in major tone suckage) and why so many hate solid state amps and multieffects. It's sad, i'll have to restart from scratch and it'll take a while. I'll probably still end up the X3 just for practice purposes... coincidentally being pretty much the only thing i ever use it for. I'm hoping i could maybe go on a deployment so i can save some cash for all this. I would love to be able to buy everything at once. I know it's crazy, but hey, that'd be awesome. It'd be like my own little private Christmas. Idk, i guess what i really want is to find myself. What else can i do when i'm about to lose everything?

  • Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 36 - $959.00
    • Avatar 1x12 Contemporary Cab with Celestion Classic Lead 80 - $279.00

  • Egnater Rebel 30 (waiting for HG Series to come out) - $749.99
    • Avatar 1x12 Contemporary Cab with Celestion Classic Lead 80 - $279.00
    • Avatar 1x12 Contemporary Cab with Celestion Vintage 30 - $279.00
      • TOTAL - $1,307.99

Effects -
  • Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Tuner
  • DigiTech Whammy IV
  • Ernie Ball VP JR
  • MXR MC404 CAE Wah
  • Pigtronix Philosopher's Rock
  • Pigtronix Class A Boost

Update numero uno: Ordered the Planet Waves Tru Strobe Tuner and a Wampler Euphoria OD. I tried getting the Lovepedal OD11 but it was out of stock and unfortunately the ED Monarch isn't very well suited for light gain.

Oh and I almost forgot!!! I got a Blackstar HT-5RS. So far I haven't played it much but it's awesome. It's perfect for practice and has everything I need. This should get me through up until I actually find a band whenever I move back to the states. Plus this way I also have two 1x12s so that I can just buy the heads without worrying too much about getting the cabs too. Interesting thing: a while ago I saw a youtube video comparing different speakers and I liked how the Blackbirds sounded. Turns out that's what these cabs have (albeit "voiced" for the Blackstar head).

Just ordered the Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh Fuzz. I'm still waiting on the tuner to ship in from GC and my mom to send me the Euphoria OD since I accidentally shipped it to her address. Later this month I'm thinking of getting the Flashback X4.

Ok, ordered the Blackout Effectors Whetstone Phaser earlier today from PGS... let's see how long it takes to get here. Also, I've gotta find out if my mom has shipped the Euphoria if she's gotten it already.

And... just ordered the Flashback X4 with 30 dollars off at GC. Freaking Pro Guitar Shop isn't offering discounts right now so i haven't ordered anything else. Hope they send me a code today or tomorrow so i can try getting something.

...aaaaaaand just ordered the Nirvana Chorus, Semaphore Tremolo, and Supernatural Reverb (saved close to 100 bucks combined!).

Fuck this... i got the wah, compressor/sustainer, and flanger now. Didn't feel like waiting plus this way i still managed to save money with all the black friday discounts. Only bad thing's gonna be all the power supplies. I'm not really sure which ones come with one included.

evening_crowa wrote on Nov 24th, 2012 3:27pm

Ok i seriously have a shopping issue. Most of the pedals don't come with a power supply so it was either wait some weeks to get a Voodoo Lab supply or order one now. I thought they were only a 100 bucks but they're actually more. I also found the MXR CAE MC-403 Power System which, even though being a bit more expensive, is actually cheaper than having to get 2 Voodoo Labs in the long run (even more with a discount added on top of that) and can supply everything on its own. So yep, just ordered that too.

Well... got a gift card in a mail package from the wife today and managed to still get hold of the 15% off discount at GC so i went ahead and ordered the Pigtronix Boost so that only cost me $9.65! Oh, and the Flashback should be shipping out tomorrow so it's not on backorder any more.

I received the Whetstone last week. Looks awesome but I haven't tried it. I feel weird if I try one at a time as they arrive. I don't know I'm probably crazy. On a side note, I ordered the Diamond Quantum Leap and Lovepedal OD 11. The Diamond is $50 dollars off at PGS for a limited time and they're giving a $40 discount on purchases of $249 and up so it was a good deal. Also, I was always iffy about the TimeBender sounding too digital. The Quantum Leap has some harmonic delay which is what drew me into the DigiTech initially. It's not as flexible but still a feature I liked and not common on delays. Apart from that its got some interesting modulation too. Anyway, now I'm stuck waiting on all this stuff for the next 3 weeks or so. Bad thing is that I'm gonna need more connectors for all the pedals. I have some cheap patch cables but its not the same as what I'm used to now. Oh well... Almost done with my dream board though!

Got the power supply, tremolo, and chorus pedals. Awesome! And you know what? I'm tired, beat down, and honestly more broken than ever. I got the Elements distortion and ISP both with discounts to where i paid less than what they're worth and got a few extra items thrown in. Man i love PGS. Once i get everything i'll go ahead and set them up, post them on ug, and finally use them. For some reason it feels incomplete if i do one by one. Idk, i'm weird. I hope it doesn't take too long... i can't wait!

evening_crowa wrote on Dec 3rd, 2012 11:42am

^^^not the eq, i don't really care much about that.

evening_crowa wrote on Dec 4th, 2012 9:46am

...and the Pharaoh is here!

evening_crowa wrote on Dec 5th, 2012 10:40am

...as is the wah! A lot heavier than I expected.

evening_crowa wrote on Dec 6th, 2012 2:13pm

The flanger and compressor got here today but I didn't get to pick them up from the post office cuz of work. Hopefully ill get out early enough tomorrow to go get them. Hey, I might even have more than one package waiting for me... Who knows!? The tracking hasn't been working very well so it's quite possible, right? Also PGS hasn't shipped my last two orders even though I placed ten on Monday I think. Oh and GC Sent me the boost through 4th class mail. WTF!?

evening_crowa wrote on Dec 8th, 2012 11:58am

Picked up the flanger, compressor, Euphoria od, and Flashback delay today! The rest of the packages will probably be here next weekend or sometime that week. I'm still worried about the boost though since it was sent as a regular parcel and that takes an extra 5 days on average. The bad thing with that is that I don't know if it'll take longer to be flown here on a military cargo plane. I've heard that they ship by priority so that might put my package at the bottom of the list, particularly with all the Christmas presents that are on traffic now.

evening_crowa wrote on Dec 20th, 2012 8:51am

They're here! My board is complete! Just waiting on cable plugs so I can rewire everything. I have to take into account the space that the Crocodile Tail Loop will take up in the future.... And maybe a Strymon Time Line? Who knows? ;)
