Ok, so now I've gotten better at mixing my songs, and since I suck at writing lead guitar riffs, I'm making these backing tracks of some of my songs available for download. So if your in a jam, and can't think of anything to write, or just want something to practice to, download these track and have at it.
The drums are...basic, but they get the point across. They are not horrible, but they could be better.
Just don't claim the entire song as your own if you decide to publish it as something you wrote, give credit where credit is due, that's all I ask.
I thought I would do this to help some people get their creative juices flowing, since I know whenever I used a premade drum track, it got me to think outside the box, and usually got me out of a writers block. So I'm offering these drum tracks of my own songs to help other people write songs. Idk what you do with them, you can write anything to them, but don't steal my songs using my drum tracks, that's all I ask. I write relatively simple drum tracks, and use a really simple drum machine, but I got good sounds, and they are in decent mixes.
I'm going to use dropbox for the links, so if for some reason the link doesn't work, PM me about it and I'll make sure you get it.
I decided to make some backing tracks of some of my songs so ya'll can jam along, I'll make the tracks down-loadable, and you can use the tracks in your music if you want, I don't care, but you must give credit where credit is due, I made the guitars for the backing track, so you have to give me credit for that, the drums are not mine, I got them from drumsforyou.com, so they belong to them.
I'll update this regularly, if I feel the tracks need to be remixed.(only one for now)
So I just gutted my Squier for an entirely new set up. I sold the EMG's and bought me a Barenuckle Painkiller for the bridge, DiMarizo Area 58' for the middle, and a DiMarizo Area 61' for the neck. It's now got a black pearloid pickguard, 500k pots, and a brass trem block.
It is now the greatest guitar every, aside from the single coils, they are such low output compared with the Painkiller, gona get some Barenuckle Trilogy Suite single coils to replace them, when I can get the money.
I recently got a drum machine, and been cranking out the tunes pertty fast. Most of the time there not planned out, still. But I'm trying to work on it. I wrote an entire album called Gave It All, which was alot of improve and a completly new tone spanning 7 songs. The new songs I'm putting out now are going to be better planned and not sound so much like improve, but more like a structured song.
I sometimes refer to my electric guitar as my Custom Metal Squier, because thats what I originaly designed it to play. But it does everything else pertty good too.
Basicly, what it consists of is a black 2006 Squier Affinity Strat, the KH-21(which is a prewired pearloid pickguard with two EMG 81's, 9 volt), Graphtech Teflon Saddles, All Parts graphite nut(going to fit the Graphtech Teflon nut as soon as I can), All Part black Mini Tuners, and All Parts roller trees.
All of my music with electric guitar in it is written using this guitar, since its my only electric guitar at the moment. Just letting anyone who's wondering what my Custom Metal Squier is.
Most of my recording are basic ideas with improv to fill in the gaps. Its not the best of the best, its all really just ideas I had in my head that I wanted to get out into the open. So far all my recording is done with my live guitar equipment and a cheap usb voice mic run into a basic sound recorder, so the sound quality is nothing near what it actually is. I dont have any drum programs or anything to layer guitar parts on each other. What you hear in my MP3's is just me playing the guitar trying to get my ideas out for critizem. When I get better equipment to record with I will redo all the songs, make them more professional sounding. But for now its all hail marys.
First, I'm going to post my Myspace, then I'll get on with it. http://www.myspace.com/ethan_hanus
I posted that since I'm on it everyday and is a better way for peope to get to know me instead of them thinking i'm an inbread illierate redneck, which I'm not. I havent posted any mp3's of my playing since i have no recording equipment and dont have the money right now to get that stuff.
I might be a redneck, in the sense that i don't like taking disrespectful crap from people who dont know what they are talking about. If people took the time to get to know me, which is asking alot of modern society, then they might like me. I'm not emo, i'm not preppy, I'm not cool, I'm me, nothing else, i'm well respected by those who know me.
I'm christian, not a very good one, but i am trying my best, going to church twice a week, i joined the church band, i try to help as much as i can, espcially those less fourtante than me. If whoever reads this, which isent very many people, I'll talk to you in a mature manner about serious subjects, and help you as best as i can, or you can just chat, fine by me.
Anyway, thats a little about me, try talkin to me, I like to have a good conversation.
i'm looking to upgrade my squire, i plan on putting two emg 81 pickups in it, and all the wireing is gona get redone. its a good strat, made out of alder/agithis, the neck is solid and thin, its also a very heavy guitar, but plays well, has a very low action, strings are a few millimeters from the frets. i'm wondering if this is a good upgrade?
