About eteam_sammy4him
I was born on September 3rd 1992. I don't remember anything until up to about preschool. I was born again sometime around the age of 5. I know it sounds too young to be saved, but God still can do amazing things. There were times I questioned it myself. A little later on we changed churches and found a home at First Baptist Bluff City. It was really nice for a bit of a change and the people I met there were truly encouraging. I still attend church there today.----------------------- Life through elementary school was just about the same as everyone elses-field trips, hanging out with friends. Middles school through the seventh grade wasn't that wonderful either. Then we entered Eighth Grade. School wise, this was one of the worst years I could possibly imagine. Everything seemed to be falling apart.------------------------ But that was school wise. Church wise we had just hired a new youth pastor, Jason Salyer. I didn't know what to expect at first, but after a while, I became acclamated with his style and poise. He began talking to our pastor about a mission trip to a church in New York called Park Slope Community Church. We ended up being able to go and our Youth Group learned what it really meant to serve God fully.----------------------------- I finally got out of Eighth Grade and was able to move on to Sullivan East High School to begin anew. Everything seemed much smoother and more acepting. I was in the band in middle school (FLUTE:PICCOLO) and continue to be. Music is a passion of mine. It seemed that my friends would support me through alot and we would make it through everything.---------------------------------- Summer 2008 was insane. Along with many friends, including Jordan Wallingford, I began what I refer to as my "Metamorphisis To Being OCD", exactly what is sonds like. Spending a summer with the most OCD people you could ever know makes you that way. God did some amazing things during the summer. Our first trip was to Super Summer in Clarksville, TN. AMAZING!! A week of God inspired speakers and worshippers in fellowship. The day we got back, we turned around and joined the rest of our group for a mission trip to Des Moines, Iowa. God amazes me in what He can do. It was amazing. A few weeks later, we went back to New York. So many people remembered us, it was a true blessing to see what God can do through even a little ounce of faith.----------------------------- My sophmore year began and all was well. Not much changed except over the course of the summer I learned to play guitar and drums, and I am currently learning Bass.---------------------------- November 22, 2008; 4:10pm.--- That was when God made everything clear. Way back in middle school in about 8th grade, I had felt like He (GOD) had called me to something greater. I didn's really say alot, but I did tell one person. One night after our Wednesday night youth when we were first really getting going, our parents were in choir so me and Jordan sat dow and talked about random stuff. I told her what I thought God was doing in my life.-------------------------------------- Fastforward to November 11th, 2008. Ergun Caner was speaking at a youth conference we were at as a youth group and gave an invitation like no other. He gave instructions for those who knew they needed salvatino to go to the back where all the Youth Pastors were, and those that felt God was calling them into the ministry to come to the stange, then go back that way when instructed. I sat there. Confuddled by instructions I could not decifer. I got up, went back to find Jason. We talked some more that afternoon.---------------------------------------- Sunday November 12th, 11:55am. I took Ergun's challenge and presented myself to the church. I had embraced what God was doing in my life. I felt and acknowledged God's calling on my life for a FULL-TIME VOCATIONAL MINISTRY. I DON'T KNOW HOW, I DON'T KNOW WHY IT WAS ME, BUT HE DID SOMETHING IN MY LIFE I CAN'T EXPLAIN AND CONTINUES TO DO JUST THAT. Those two days changed my life forever.------------------------------------------ -- I don't really do credits but I do have some people to thank. Jason Salyer for always being there for me and being a great Teacher of The WORD. Steve Morelock for doing just the same. Pastor Mike Pope for encouraging me that Sunday and continually. All my close friends for supporting my decision. Derek Lingerfelt for keeping me accountable and encouraging me. Bethany Jordan Wallingford, the first first person I ever told. When I've been down, she's kicked me up again. She's always been a friend and encouragment. Thank you for that. My mom and dad for supporting me in all my endeavors and through life. Amy Sams, the BEST SISTER EVER. Thank you for everything.------------------------------------- Acts 6:4 "But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."
