Bigsteve92 wrote on Sep 6th, 2009 5:23pmthey look to be hybrid pickups rather than true actives so you dont get the apparant benefits of a supposedly longer sustain etc
do they work without batteries in?

dogismycopilot wrote on Apr 18th, 2008 6:15pmMy name is actually from a bumper sticker in the late 80s early 90s. People out here have bumper stickers that say "God is my copilot", when some of the cleaver people saw the opportunity to take "god" and write it backwards. So the bumper sticker read "Dog is my copilot". I just pushed all the words together and ta-da! A username!

Erock503 wrote on Feb 17th, 2008 3:39pmhey bro, hell yeah I think the Mark IV can do metal. I play a 7 string, so it's there is some low tuning like Shinozoku (whatup bud ) said. It doesn't need drop tunings to sound mean as hell though. I use an OD808 as a boost in front, and it can get ripping mean. The Mark IV is seriously a great metal amp man, plus having the versatility to take you into a lot of other genres.
This guy has some fabulous tunes with his mark though, a lot of them direct without a mic even.

Shinozoku wrote on Jan 16th, 2008 11:22pmAlthought to be fair, he was pretty drop tuned in those recordings it sounds like. Forgot that in my last post xD quote |
Shinozoku wrote on Jan 16th, 2008 11:20pmLook up Erock503 for some crazy metal distortion on the Mark, as well as many other amps quote |
UnsignedRecords wrote on Jan 13th, 2008 10:30pmhahah, nah it's no threat. it's an offer
and i dunno, i don't really play too much metal. just stuff like iron maiden or metallica on occasion. newer metal i'm not too keen on.
anyway, the amp's gain was on 8/10, and so was it's second gain stage thing (called the lead drive) so it could get a hair heavier. the higher the treble, the more agressive and tighter the amp gets. i haven't played any really booming lowend riffs on mine, partly because i don't know how to find it haha.
if you're into to mainly metal, the mark might not fully satisfy, but if you're like me and like cleans, mid-gain, and occasional high gain... hell yes. quote |
Guitar-God-Elf wrote on Dec 27th, 2007 9:22pmmaybe an exaggeration, but it is INCREDIBLY bassy, like it has to be around 9o-clock ish to be useable, and dude......look at your guitar, and then look at mine...doesnt the maverick just have the nicest neck ever?
and great upper fret access!
