Hey, I saw your thread about racism. I just wanted to say that I think it's great that you're not buying into the garbage coming out of your dad's mouth. It's particularly distressing to see how many people in that thread thought it was funny or have no problem with racist comments. I also wanted to give you a little piece of advice. I'm 32 and most of the older generation in my family is racist or espouse some kind of racist attitudes. The sad truth is that none of those people are going to change. Neither will your dad. It's not even worth letting him know that you're not ok with his remarks because you're just going to alienate him and your relationship with him will probably suffer as a result. If you really want to make things better, make sure your kids don't grow up to be racists too. With every new generation there are going to be fewer and fewer racists. Our society is growing more diverse with each passing day. Eventually people are going to realize that our diversities don't divide us, they make us stronger as a whole.

So that's my two cents. Take care.
