Interests
Favorite bands :
Actually, its composers I favor: Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, the sort of person who'll do the work of an army of musicians and engineers all by themselves, from first sketch of a chord sequence through to the end. Except there's that next first sketch...
Favorite guitarists :
Buck Dharma - has been for 40 years. Jorma Kaukonen - same. Orion Furmanski - but he's only 35. St. Joe of Satriani - until the saucers take him home.
Favorite bassists :
Jack Cassidy for that awesome booming percussive bass he added to Jefferson Airplane.
Favorite books :
Helliconia Trilogy, Brian W. Aldiss Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth by Buckminster Fuller
Favorite tv :
Firefly (Serenity) The Muppet Show Justified OFF -- unless I'm playing from DIVX or DVD disks.
Favorite movies :
Jean-Michel Jarre concerts, Water For Life is my #1 Rollerball (the original) Dark Star Serenity

About drmcclainphd
Perceptual/cognitive neuroscientist, bioelectric signal analyst, complex dynamic systems theorist, amateur high powered rocket builder and flier, cat herder and budgie (parakeet) whisperer. In "Thank You For Smoking" the 'hero' says they've found that smoking can offset Parkinson's disease. That's true. My dissertation was part of that project.
