yeah, if you're gonna swirl the headstock, deffo gotta clear coat it, so it matches the body. that's gonna look bitchin'.
and for the wood, either tru-oil or tung oil. we'd need to pick some up from lowes. i think tru-oil penetrates the wood better, so that's something to keep in mind. oiling the neck ill be infinitely easier than finishing it with clear coat, and feel better, IMO. just tape off the fretboard, and give it somewhere between 3-7 coats. rub 'em in well, i think waiting 24 hours between each one.
