I don't actually think athletic people are dumb. I hope you didn't take it offensively when I used the word 'jock', I was only replying to the statement of the person before me. Most of the people who I know that could be stereotyped as 'jocks' based on how involved they are with sports are very smart. That's not a paradigm apparent in my mind. However, to avoid having to go off on a long tangent about that and simply show that I recognized that I knew what 'kind' of guy the person I was replying to was talking about (more of what the stereotypical 'jock' personality would be, but without the sports aspect), I went along with it.
This isn't meant to be defense to my statement, I just wanted to make sure you weren't pissed off about a false view. People suck sometimes, and it can be really disappointing to see the discrimination that some people hold, but this wasn't one of those cases  So er.. rest your head quote |
