Guitar Solo Making Tips...

Hello, I have trouble with making guitar solos because everytime i try to make one it ends up sounding stupid :(, so i have checked out videos on youtube to make solos; what i am interested in is the guitar solos like Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, ect., and i couldn't get any help. I know all about the penetatonic scale, but i don't know how to use it on a hard rock solo. Anyone got advice, or help?

Learn the major and minor pentatonic in every key over the entire fingerboard. Pay particular attention to the difference in sound between the two scales. The major pentatonic has a sweet, almost country flavor to it. The minor pentatonic has a darker, more blues sound to it. Knowing this difference in sound will help you to match your playing to the flavor of the chord progression.
