*this poem s a story of a man with a facial disfigurment, wanting people to not judge him by his looks and to talk to him more*
this poem is called...social
Don’t be afraid, come closer if you may.
I’m just a normal person that you would meet every day.
My outside may look different, but on the inside I’m fine.
I do my fair share of talking from time to time.
You may see walking on my own, but that’s no reason to turn away.
I would love to have a talk to you but I’m a bit ashamed.
My speech is a kind of mumbling, which sometimes you can’t understand.
And I have that type of laugh which people cannot stand.
So in the near future, please say “hi” to me.
I would give you a nod and a smile quite happily.
*this poem is about a girl who had fallen out with her friends and then met up with them years later when she graduated. it tells us how friends change...*
this poem is called....change
Never slept last night, kept wishing things were right.
I just don’t get it, why? It was just yesterday that things were all sky high.
Then you crashed me down. I can’t remember how hard I hit the ground.
It’s scary how all things change, as you grow older, you begin to re-arrange.
Suddenly friends turn away. You’re left on your own on a rainy day.
Ten years on you don’t recognise them in the street. Then all of a sudden you happen to meet.
You laugh. You joke. You get along fine. You used to have good friends you think “was this person really mine?”
That one moment of communication takes you back to the rainy day. That time all you so called ‘mates’ turned away.
How things change as you grow old. How warm, loving hearts grow withered and cold.
How people you knew inside and out, wouldn’t give you a second glance if you happened to give them a shout.
thankyou for reading. much appreciated.
