I want to record it, but my means are not very good. The clips of my V16 are with a crappy Radioshack microphone going through a Toneport GX. I could also use my MP3 recorder, which I think is better sound quality, but the SR overpowers it at any volume that would produce a good tone. Also, I just don't seem to think I have the tone/chops to do a good clip. Recorded it doesn't sound much better than the V16, but in real life the SR blows it away.
And yes Super Reverb styled amps are awesome.

As for the tone, it sounds very much like an old tweed champ, because that's essentially what it is. Warm cleans and smooth buttery overdrive. Actually, I heard somewhere that the GA5s are almost exact clones of the 5E1 fender circuit.
It needs a cap job though, and I've been trying to avoid playing it until I get it done.
I should be getting one done within the week. |

i need a cap job on my bassman, i have the caps already, just havent got around to putting them in.
