hey there, long time no see.

right, the news; the follow up to short term manifesto is going to start being recorded next month, under the work in progress title of 'a monster came to dinner'. Personally, i have heard a lot of new material at concerts, and i think it is going to be fab.

on another note, the ray auton, guitar slinger's other band the torpeados will be releasing their debut very soon. Im going to the fawcett gig this saturay, so if you have any questions

keep the faith people, and dont trust anyone called baron stardust.

richard

ps: check out next months rock sounds. Im on the decks of death, with the autons 'devil in me'@ no 1 :)

I agree, The Decline is a masterpiece. Were you as disappointed by Wolves In Wolves Clothing as I was? I mean, it was good and all, and a few of the tracks were super good, but over all it just kinda.......weak. I thought The War On Errorism was better.

yeah, i got really lucky. There's 2 guitar teachers at the place, and the otehr one is all about playing exercises perfectly all the time - that wouldn't make guitar fun.

anyway, hope you find a good guy. if you can't, just find a mate who's been playing longer, or is better, and ask them to pick out some stuff.

i'm not sure, it depends on the teacher you get - i learned all teh basics from watching and listening to songs, and using tabs. when i got my teacher, he just asked what sorta stuff i wanted to do, and he picks out songs that i like, and that help me improve my playing. He's a great guy - sometimes if we can't be assed, we just jam for the whole lesson. he never said "play this exercise" or "learn this" he just recommended some stuff, and most of the time he was right.

i've been playing for just over 3 years, the first year and a half was self taught, then i got a teacher. i play all kinds of music, but mainly metal. I just like anythign wiht guitars in it. after a quick read of your profile, i get the feeling you may be a punk fan, lol. i used to always listen to punk, not so much now, but i still like it.

We are paying...its not that expensive though since we are only going to record like 2 songs MAYBE 3 if we got the time left over, it about...80$ for 2 hours i guess, and yeah alot of professional bands use this studio, we get like a student discount though!
We usually record with an mp3 player for fun ^^ the quality is usually poor but its fun nonetheless to hear yourself play!
We are thinking of getting this : http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm ?prodID=1916
Sounds like an awesome thing to have to record while jamming and whatnot :)

You Should most definatly record, its good to hear if your in tune and playing well together, which can sometimes be hard to hear while your playing :)

Have fun jamming!
