Hey, In Solitude is pretty cool. Got an old school vibe that's enjoyable.

I can't believe I just now saw this lol. Yeah, they're great! They were one of the first bands that I listened to when I started getting into doom metal.

You're funny. You accuse me of lacking basic social skills and then got the hell trolled out of you in the Chat thread. Those guys didn't even have to try hard. You made it easy.
So.

Hey man, uhm... jeez, really starting to lose my memory for deathcore in my old age, haha. Ascariasis and Substructure are both killer, A.I.(d) is awesome for a more glitch based approach, Shadow of the Colossus' self titled album is probably the heaviest thing on the face of the Earth, so get that as well, uhm... The HAARP Machine, The Korea, White Arms of Athena (but that's closer to BTBAM worship).... Fuck, brain's running out on me... The Schoenberg Automaton, oh and 7 Horns 7 Eyes for their atmosphere. See how that goes, man, hit me up if nothing works :P

So, what do you think of TesseracT's new album? Yea? Or nay?

Better than expected, but nowhere near as good as Conceiling Fate. Still a yea, but not a large one.

If you liked those, I'd check out the band Minsk, who are Eastern European. If you don't mind Hardcore, there's also a band called Old Man Gloom who are Post-Metal with Hardcore influence. Their album "No" is great.

That's the Post-Rock influence. Post-Metal is essentially metal mixed with Post-Rock. I don't really like Post-Rock, but I really enjoy Post-Metal.

Neurosis isn't Swedish though (they're from California). But yeah, I love a lot of Swedish bands. I also like a lot of Norwegian bands.

Hmm. I've never actually listened to any hardcore :P is it... Some kind of punk? I actually really like some post-rock! I like Mogwai and GY!BE. Also I've just remembered I've listened to Russian Circles before, who are apparently post-metal, and enjoyed them a lot. Do you know of any bands in a similar vein? With regards to the Swedish thing- I was thinking of Opeth, Meshuggah, Katatonia and Pain Of Salvation as well. Thank you Sweden.

Mind recommending me some good, sort of technical/Prog-ish Deathcore? Other than bands like Fallujah and All Shall Perish, I realized I don't know too much about Deathcore.

I'm the wrong person to ask for stuff like that. The most I can give you would be The Faceless, The Contortionist, and Ascariasis are the only bands that I know of. After The Burial would probably fit as well. I would suggest asking Magero since he's pretty much the expert on that stuff, hell, he's probably met and played with most of those bands anyway.

So, I see you're pretty big into Prog? You ever check some Post-Metal, by the way? Bands like Neurosis ("The Eye of Every Storm" and "Through Honor In Decay") or Cult of Luna ("Vertikal" and "Somewhere Along the Highway"). I'd be happy to recommend more, if you're interested.

Mm, fairly. I've listened to Neurosis before, they weren't really for me but that was a while ago. I just listened to Leave Me Here and Back To Chapel Town by Cult Of Luna, they sound good! Although I think the whole shoegazey (?) sound might be an acquired taste. I've never even heard of them before though. The Swedish seem very talented.

That link didn't work, but that idea is pretty damn funny to me.

Anyway, I really like the lessons you write. I signed up for your newsletter and got the music theory map. Very nicely done.

Yeah, it was pretty funny. I'll be sure to make all the preparations for your initiation ceremony in the Hess-collective hahaha :)

And I'm glad you like the map. If you have suggestions for future articles/lessons/eBooks I would value your opinion very much. I have 2-3 articles already in the queue, but I'm always on the hunt for good ideas.

Hey crazysam. Seems that you are now part of a covert conspiracy of the Hess-clan "or some larger, more nefarious force" :)

Just so you know, it's best to ignore MissingSomethin. As you can tell, he or she is missing something. There's been a few threads where his/her ignorance has been exposed. The problem is, rather than learning from it, he/she/it argues (badly) about it.

Lol, I will heed your advice, I should of realized that straight away by their user name, cheers!

Awesome! Thank you. Those ought to give me a lot to start with.

Btw, I should apologize to you personally. (I already sent due a PM apologizing, as well.) I shouldn't have ragged on due like that. He's your friend, and I apologize for meanly teasing him. That wasn't cool.

No, man. You don't owe me anything. It's just that a bunch of people ganged up on the guy, and he's an actual friend of mine. It's nothing personal, and I don't think any differently of you. Don't worry about it. I knew your apology was sincere.
