I saw Dave Alvin & The Guilty Women last night. You probably haven't heard of them but he's an incredible guitarist, great singer and has great stage presence, his jokes are also pretty great to. The band is pretty tight to and works amazingly well for people who have been playing for a little less than a year. The band is Cindy Cashdollar on slide, she's played with all kinds of people like Van Morrison and Rod Stewart, Christy McWilson, a great singer, Amy Farris, the best fiddler I've ever heard of the very few I've heard and know the names of, Sarah Brown, who as Dave put it has her own page in the book of Blues For Dummies, and Lisa Pranketz, who did a solo with Cindy that was amazing and I thought her drum kit was going to explode from the awesome and sheer force hitting it as hard as she could. If you haven't heard of Dave Alvin you're missing out, he's amazing check out The Blasters, his old band, and some of his solo stuff. And the warm up act was a great to it's a local band call Rex & The Misery Boys, I thought I wouldn't like them because they were country but I really loved them.
